The food was ok here. They tried to be to far outside the box with place. If your going to go that route, dedicate one of your lines to typical American fast food. How do you have a food court with no chicken nuggets for kids. The build your own burger, salad and pasta were nice additions. However when these items were ordered you might as well plan on waiting for a long time. It's a food court, simplify it.

Pros:

themeing and decor

Cons:

extremely slow service.

Review of Coral Reef - Lunch/Dinner

I checked in 15 minutes prior to my 11:30 AM reservation time. I requested a bottom floor seat so the kids could see the fish well. I was told it depended on availability. I was the first one to enter the restaurant and no one was in front of me at the time. (We did get a floor seat, but I found it odd that hostess went through the "availability" speech.) The host walked around guessing who he was supposed to call. It seems to me it would be better to just call out someone's last name instead. We were seated (party of 5) and the chef came to talk to me about my son's allergies. This was difficult because the reason why I chose Coral Reef is so he could have the meaty macaroni w/o cheese. Unfortunately they took it off of the menu 3 days prior to our arrival. I ordered the Mahi Mahi with Laughing Bird Shrimp. (I have ordered the same dish in two years ago and it was fabulous) This time, the mahi was a bit soggy. The sauce was extremely sweet and had the fishy taste in it. My daughter loved the fried shrimp and fries. I ordered the chocolate wave for dessert and it did not disappoint. YUM! Our waitress, though nice, was extremely slow. It took an hour and a half to eat here and we missed a fast pass appt. I am glad we were on the dining plan. This would not have been worth the cash. I would have preferred to have eaten at Sunshine Seasons.

Pros:

lovely sea life to watch

Cons:

mediocre food, slow!

I made sure I planned to return to EPCOT to get the beet and goat cheese salad. The dressing is light and refreshing. I have never had yellow beets before. They taste like regular beets, but give the salad a pretty pop of color. The goat cheese is plentiful and you get a sesame cracker to go with it. There are a wide variety of desserts and muffins. I really like the children's menus. My daughter has had the pizza panini. It is a nice twist on pizza. Also, the roasted kid's drumstick is nicely flavored. If you need a quick snack, they have pre-packaged refrigerated foods. Such a wonderful break from hamburgers and fries! I like that you can get free drink refills here. Very nice!

Just returned from our late September stay. We booked 4 rooms for 8 adults and 2 children, 2 were Royal Guest rooms and 2 were Std rooms in Magnolia Bend. The rooms were nice, check in went smoothly. Had a wonderful meal at Boatwrights, everyone was happy with what they ordered. Buses ran smoothly and we didn't wait any longer than 10 minutes. It was longer after the parks closed or a fireworks show but still nothing more than 15 minutes. My daughter lost her swim goggles on the first day which the Disney staff found but when we went to claim them they had lost them. They did allow us to purchase new ones and deduct from our room charges.

Pros:

Clean, pretty, friendly staff

Cons:

disorganized, crowded food court

Two words-Frosted Pretzels! You can now get them one of two ways; covered with slivered almonds, or with frosting and chocolate. We couldn't decide so got one of each and shared. If you are on DDP, you can use snack credits for these. These have been a "must do" on our trips for years.

Pros:

EVERYTHING looked good!

We ate here on the last night of our recent trip, basically because we were staying at WL Villas and felt we would be able to relax, pack, etc. After checking in, was told they were "running a little behind" but actually didn't have to wait very long...it would be nice if you are staying at that resort if they could arrange it so they contacted you in your room +/- 15 mins or so before seating so you didn't have to wait in hotel lobby. Anyway, as has been mentioned in other reviews, this is NOT the place to go for a nice quiet dinner. That is OK by us, and we had an idea what we were in for since we had been by the restaurant several times during our stay and seen and heard the antics. We were greeted promptly by our server, who was very pleasant, and put in our order. The drinks (sodas and milk shake) arrived relatively quickly; the food was delivered by other servers in a timely fashion. Since we were a party of four, the sides brought were barely enough for medium servings for each of us. We wanted to ask for more sides, but our waitress was nowhere to be found. Finally, we flagged down one of the managers who happened to be passing our table and asked her, and we finally got our additional sides. For the meat, we had the beef, chicken and sausage. I wouldn't go so far as to call the beef "steak", it was more like roast beef. It was OK, but nothing to rave about. The chicken was pretty good, but I would avoid the sausage. Three out of the four of us ate it, and all three ended up becoming ill later in the evening...the one that didn't eat it was fine. The sides and the dessert assortment were good. If you have kids, no doubt they will enjoy it here; the Wilderness Lodge and the grounds surrounding it are among the most beautiful in WDW-you really DO feel that you are out in a lodge in the wilderness and not smack in the middle of Florida. The highlight of the evening was walking down to the beach after dinner and watching the Electric Water Pageant which stopped right in front.

Review of 1900 Park Fare Character Dinner

I'd heard horror stories about the food for dinner, but we found the bulk of the food to be decent. I think the crab legs in the seafood bowls were the biggest letdown. We were also part of the first seating and seated a bit late, so that was a tad disappointing since we were on a bit of a schedule. The characters varied...Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, and Anastasia were great. Cinderella was meh and Drizella barely stopped for us, so that was upsetting. In doing this, we've now done every character meal experience on property and I don't see us repeating this one. Still, I'd recommend it - just to try it once.

Pros:

Most Food, Some of the Characters

Cons:

The rest of the characters

Review of 'Ohana Dinner

The last time we did 'Ohana dinner, it was good, but not great. Still, I could see why people rave about it since it's a never ending meat parade. Well, this visit was GREAT! The food, the service, the fun, the games, the setting, even the wait- all was PERFECT! The rest of the family with us loved it so much that they want to go back ASAP. They even compared it to what they get at their local Brazilian steakhouse and felt that 'Ohana was real value for the $...not something you usually hear about Disney and dining.

Pros:

Everything!!!

Review of Chef Mickey's Breakfast

Obviously, you are paying for the characters here, and we had excellent character interaction. We just felt the food was very average and didn't offer any distinctive breakfast items like other popular character breakfasts. Ex. Crystal Palace, 1900 PF, and Cape May all have more elevated food options among their offerings to make you feel like there's a bit more value in the meal. The service this time was really only so/so. It's not the worst we've ever had, but it also wasn't great... which bites since we were a party of 9 i.e. she was getting an 18% tip no matter how bad she was. I think we're going to give this one a rest on future trips.

Pros:

good characters, good location

Cons:

mediocre service
