This is our favorite resort. We love everything about it. It is further from the parks, but it's a nice secluded feeling resort.

Pros:

size, pool, atmosphere, restaurants, gift shop

Review of Pop Century Resort (Value Resort)

I stayed at the Pop from Saturday August 2nd to Sunday August 3rd. I would say that it was a pleasant experience. I requested the 80s building with the highest floor via online check in, and got the 50s building with the highest floor. I am glad I got the 50s building anyway, because the room was facing the Art of Animation (AoA) resort (across Hourglass Lake), which is beautiful, especially at night. Plus, the room was facing the fireworks, which are spectacular. So I definitely "lucked-out" on the room view. Also, the room was away from the pool, so was very quiet. The only real con is, like a lot of reviewers say, one can hear the people in next door rooms too much (conversations, bathroom flushing, etc). I loved the fact that I could walk to the food court and bring my meal (had dinner and breakfast) back to my room and eat in peace while I browsed the internet via room Wi-Fi, which is easy to link to. I definitely had a good experience at the Pop. For me, it was like a home away from home. I really don't need all the extras that cost so much at higher priced resorts. I wish the official Pop website had said that the room has a refrigerator, but I had called the resort and they said the room does. But I wish the refrigerator had a freezer, because I brought along reusable ice packs with me for my cooler.

Pros:

relatively inexpensive compared to other Disney World resorts

Cons:

can hear next door neighbors too much

Review of 1900 Park Fare Character Dinner

Dined here on 8/16 for dinner at 4:45pm. I arrived a few minutes late but there was no wait to check in, have my photo taken, and be seated. My table was the exact same one I was at when I ate breakfast two years ago. Sylvia was my server this time around.

The dinner rolls here were absolutely amazing. I don't even know what made them so good because they were really just basic rolls! The potato salad was great. I enjoyed the potato casserole as well as the guinness stew; the pasta alfredo was good too. I did not care so much for the coconut carrot raisin salad or the vegan noodle salad. And of course, no meal here is complete without a big bowl of that amazing strawberry soup! Stand out desserts included the cheesecake and fruit tarts.

Cinderella and Prince Charming were cordial but the Tremaine family was hysterical. Lady Tremaine asked me if I was there to babysit her daughters; Drizella and I took a fantastic photo, and Anastasia and I got to be sassy redheads together.

Another great meal for this trip, and I definitely preferred the dinner experience to breakfast.

Pros:

Solid quality food, amazing character interaction

Review of Port Orleans French Quarter (Moderate Resort)

Stayed here with my daughter and DGD 14 and 12 from 7/30-8/6.I have lost count of how many times I have stayed here over the years (since it was just Port Orleans and the sister resort was Dixie Landings). The size of the resort, the pool, the grounds and the boat to DTD are just some of the reasons we keep coming back. And of course there's Arneel, the greeter! So cheerful! Looking forward to seeing him again in October.

Pros:

Everything!

First time here for breakfast, although have had dinner many times. I thought the food choices were plentiful and very good. My DGD14 loved the cheesy grits! Mickey waffles-YUM!! The characters were a lot of fun, spent lots of time for pictures. It was a very relaxed atmosphere and not crowded the day we were there. From there we walked to Epcot to spend our last full day.

Pros:

Location, Characters

Review of Chip and Dale Harvest Feast at The Garden Grill

We ate here on Aug 3 (myself, daughter and 2 DGD 14 and 12). The food was very tasty and plentiful. Our server was Felipe and he kept our drinks filled and was very prompt to bring out more food as requested. The girls especially enjoyed the beef and the mashed potatoes. The character interaction was great. Chip even picked up the kids' phones off the table and pretended to take a selfie! I used Tables in Wonderland and even though the gratuity is included, I left extra for our server because he was so good.

Pros:

food, characters

Review of Fort Wilderness Campground

Pros:

The cabins were spacious, well-decorated and very clean.

Mousekeeping was excellent, very friendly and kind besides doing a wonderful job.

The Tri-Circle D ranch was great, you can walk through and look at the ponies or go back to the barn and look at the large horses. Pony rides for small children (under 48 inches and 80 pounds) were only $5.

Food at the pool bar and Trails End To Go was very good.

Bell services was incredibly helpful.

Cons:

Rude concierge cast member at check-in.

Room was not ready until 5:30 pm.

When we went to the cabin our magic bands could not open it. A person from bell services opened it with a key then took our magic bands to the front desk to be fixed. After 1 and 1/2 hours we went to the front desk and waited for them to be given to us. They gave us completely new bands which did thankfully work. In the meantime we paid cash for dinner since we had no dining plan to access without the bands.

The bus transportation is very confusing. There is no bus to Magic Kingdom, you have to take an internal bus to the boats or an internal bus to the Settlement bus stop where you can catch a bus to Wilderness Lodge where you can then catch a bus to Magic Kingdom. You can also take a boat to the Contemporary and walk from there but those boats do shut down for lightening.

We had refillable mugs but you can only refill them at pool bar or Trails To Go. Another spot at the Outpost would be nice since the main bus stop is there.

Pros:

Cabins, Mousekeeping, Horses, Bell Services

Cons:

Check-in, Confusing Transportation

Review of Wolfgang Puck Express Marketplace

Ate here three times in two weeks. amazing quality and brilliant value on ddp.
Had (at various times) chicken Caesar salad, chinois salad and Curried chicken salad. These were worth a visit alone. Some of the freshest and tastiest salads I have ever eaten.
The pizzas were very nice and plenty big enough for two to share (three with a salad) we preferred the margherita pizza to the four cheese or pesto pizza. The half roast chicken and chicken tenders were well received by my daughter (aged 12) who prefers the fries to the mash.
Desserts included crème brulee (as good as any table service offering) cheesecake (with a crème brulee type topping) fruit cups, fudge brownies. All lovely.
The only slight negative is that you can only choose from a hot or cold fountain drink. Daughter was refused a bottle of water and we had to pay oop for chocolate milk on both occasions although these options are available on the children's dining plan.

Pros:

food worthy of a table service restaurant

Cons:

Poor choice of drinks on ddp

Review of Earl of Sandwich

We love the sandwiches here and apart from the busy nature of the restaurant we have no complaints if not on the ddp.
We visited twice, eating Baja salads, chicken chipotle sandwich, EOS club and holiday sandwich. All were superb and if we had been paying oop would have proved excellent value.
The side orders on the dining plan are only available at $2.49 or less which omits many of the desserts, we did on one occasion have grape cups but these weren't available on our other visit. The queue for the soft drink machine has to be seen to be believed. On our second visit we stuck to bottled drinks from the fridge.

Pros:

amazing sandwiches

Cons:

Very busy, value and side options poor on ddp
