Waited long time even with reservation. Felt very rushed at times. Server was never around. Had to ask other severs for drink refills and when characters would be around our table. For the cost there are other places i will choose next time. Was not overly impressed with the food. Seemed ordinary at best.

Pros:

Atmosphere, Characters

Cons:

Cost, slow service

Review of Boardwalk Inn (Deluxe Resort)

Our most recent Boardwalk visit was July 22 - 29. This was our 3rd Boardwalk stay. The room decor this time was a bit shabby, but it looks like all rooms are being renovated, so this should not be an issue. Almost all cast members are friendly and make you feel welcome.

The location is phenomenal; walking distance to EPCOT and an easy boat ride to the Studios. Getting off the boat at the Swan/Dolphin on the return trip from the Studios and walking over the bridge to the Boardwalk saves about 10 minutes on the trip.

The restaurants are great. We especially like Big River Grill Works and the ESPN club - both have great burgers! Breakfast is a bit problematic if you don't like just pastry; the Boardwalk Bakery offers a couple of egg dishes but they are not especially appealing. Most days we have an instant breakfast drink in our room, and then get fresh fruit and a late breakfast in the parks.

The lobby and other public areas of the Boardwalk are beautiful and there are lots of places to sit, relax, read and recharge from a day in the parks. The Luna Park pool is lovely - big enough to allow for plenty of personal space, but small enough to feel like home. We love the Beach Club and that was our resort of choice when traveling with a tween/teen. We make at least one visit to Beaches and Cream from the Boardwalk. The Boardwalk has more food and entertainment options than the Beach Club, which we appreciate now that we are traveling with a college age daughter.

Pros:

Location, Theming, Restaurants, Cast members

Cons:

Limited quick service, Tired room decor

Review of Storyteller's Cafe Breakfast

We had a wonderful character breakfast at Storyteller's Cafe! We had a late morning reservation (thank goodness b/c the wait time for walk-ups was 60-90 minutes) and were seated within 15 minutes of checking-in. The buffet is delicious with lots of variety to choose from (several egg choices, meats, fruits, waffles, etc) The three members in our party were adults and all ordered fun alcoholic beverages in addition to the juice/coffee that is provided. Our server Tom was excellent. And the characters are GREAT! All "critters" such as Brother Bear, Chip and Dale, Brer Bear, Brer Fox, Meeko etc. They also get up and dance/have a little parade through the restaurant every so often. Whether you're 5 or 50 years young, this is a fantastic place to have a yummy breakfast and enjoy characters.

Pros:

Super fun character breakfast!

Teppan Edo is a our favorite. We almost always eat here on our vacations. This year, the food was great but our chef was not as entertaining as others. No biggie though for us. Plenty of food and the staff were friendly. Will be back!

We loved it here. The princesses were great and did not take long to get to our table. The food was good. Even my picky eater found a few things to eat which is rare. Our waiter was in training and spilled a whole cup of iced tea on my daughter. We felt bad for him because he was so nervous. Glad it happened to us and not anyone else since we are easy going. He apologized several times. We will definitely come back here again in the future.

Pros:

food and princesses

Review of 50's Prime Time Cafe Lunch/Dinner

We had a great waiter and I wish I could remember his name. He was fun, but did not go overboard which was good. Our kids were putting their elbows on the table to get him to say something. The food was ok. Most of us got the chicken pot pie which was good and a big portion. None of us finished it. My only complaint was the wait to be seated. It took almost an hour after checking in. This is not a must do for us, but I'm sure we will come back on another trip at some point.

Pros:

fun

Cons:

wait to be seated

Review of Port Orleans French Quarter (Moderate Resort)

POFQ is our favorite Disney resort! It is small and quiet. Everything is close no matter what building you are in. Staff was always friendly and great with kids. We love the pool and spent many days there during our 2 week stay. It is also close to the parks which we love. Our maid, Violet was great. She left little towel animals for our kids which they loved. The boat to Downtown Disney is a nice break from the busses. We are always sad when we have to leave our "2nd home".

Pros:

Everything

Review of Grand Californian Hotel

I absolutely LOVED our stay this past weekend at the Grand Californian Hotel for the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend. My mom, sister and I arrived on a Friday late morning, had a short wait at registration. The cast member was very courteous at check in. She said they would store our luggage and we would receive a text message when the room was ready - they provide you the keys that are activated once the room is ready. No sooner had we stored our luggage and headed out the door to Downtown Disney, and I already received a text that our room was ready and the room number itself! When we went to our room, we discovered it was a handicap-accessible room - which normally wouldn't be a problem - but for three women needing lots of counter space, lots of bathroom time! (there is no separation in the bathroom for the shower and toilet area in an accessible room) and who brought sun dresses that the closet couldn't accommodate, it didn't work well for us. So we called the front desk, and the cast member was able to switch us to a different room - all we had to do was collect our items and get new keys at the front desk. Our new room was AWESOME! Right along Downtown Disney (directly above World of Color) so the view from our balcony was great -- we could see the monorail passing by, Space Mountain, the Matterhorn and we had a PERFECT view of the fireworks at night! I would also like to note that I was quite worried it would be crazy loud since we were right in the thick of Downtown Disney - but once you close the balcony door, that wasn't the case! It was quiet as can be in the room.
Every cast member we encountered was incredibly helpful and courteous, the rooms are absolutely beautiful and frankly, it will be hard to stay anywhere else in the Disneyland area now that I've stayed at the Grand Californian. The lobby is so beautiful -- after running the Dumbo Challenge (the 10K race + half marathon) and playing in the parks, we all were so tired the day of checkout, we actually sat in the lobby area for over an hour, listened to the piano music and it was SO nice! When we were leaving, we had a slight problem with the Uber car I had ordered to take us to the airport, and the cast members who saw what was happening took care of us right away! It was fantastic. Maybe the only downside I can see about the resort is it can be a bit confusing weaving in and out of the hallways to find your way to the elevators, etc - but that's a very minor thing and we all figured it out after a couple of tries! 🙂 I would highly recommend this resort for anyone wanting to stay on Disney property. The location is fantastic and overall our stay was near perfect.

Pros:

Beautiful resort, fantastic location, won't stay anywhere else!

None!

Review of My Disney Experience

First I need to say my phone only got reception about 6 hours a day. It seemed to take forever to get information. We were not able to change any plans with the app but it may just have been my phone carrier. But wait times did make deciding what to ride much easier.

Pros:

Wait times

Cons:

It took for ever to bring up information
