This may be my new favorite Disney restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful, our server was wonderful and the band and belly dancer were great. Kids in the restaurant were invited to join the belly dancer, seeing my 3 year old dance with her was one of the highlights of our trip. We were a party of seven and between us we had the vegetable cous cous, beef cous cous, chicken kebab and fish. We also tried all of the desserts. Everything was delicious, I highly recommend this place.

Pros:

Food,a Service, Decor, Entertainment

This was my second time eating at this restaurant. The service was decent and the atmosphere was amazing. I love looking at the fish and sea animals in the tanks. It is a little on the darker side in this restaurant. I ordered the New York strip and I got french fries instead of mashed potatoes, but I later found out that the mashed potatoes were amazing and i would have rather had them! One member in my family got the fish of the day and the others also got the steak. The dessert was the best part of the meal. I got the cheesecake and it was shaped like a sea turtle..so cute and yummy. I will come back to this restaurant.

Pros:

atmosphere, food

Cons:

loud

The first time I tried this restaurant was in 2008 and it was one of the best in Disney World.

I went back last week and the food was horrible. I had some mac and cheese and chicken fingers. The mac and cheese was cold and tasted horrible and the chicken fingers were hard. The rest of my family also disliked the food. There wasn't much of a variety. Also, it was suppose to be a buffet but they stopped putting out new food so I only got one plate. The service was alright, I have received better. The only good part of this dinner was the characters came around and took many pictures with me and my family. Right when we were leaving wishes had started so they let us stand near the door and watch it from the porch. That was very nice.

I will never ever come back to this restaurant. I was very disappointed.

Pros:

characters, got to see wishes

Cons:

food

Review of Ketchikan, Alaska

We did the Neets Bay Bear Watch by Floatplane excursion. In a word:Wow!
First of all, it was rainy and windy for our entire stay in Ketchikan. We were told this is not unusual since it is the Rain Capitol of North America. So, be prepared to be damp.
Our excursion started later in the day so we had time to wander around the town a bit. Found some great gifts and the prices were not outrageaous.
At 2:00 we checked-in with our excursion hostess and boarded the bus to the floatplane port. (This was the only driver who did NOT point out any areas of interest, or even talk at all. She seemed rather cranky. Maybe it was the rain.) They divided us up into groups of 8-9 and we climbed into our floatplane with little ceremony. Everyone wore headsets to muffle the noise of the propellers & engines, but there was music and some little narration during the flight. The flight: it was bumpy. We hit air pockets and currents that jostled and dropped us like we were in a kite. It might have been scary if the pilot wasn't used to flying in these conditions regularly. What an adventure so far!
Once we landed, we met our guide for a short walk through the woods to the salmon hatchery -- he stopped to point out bear markings, dens and sleeping spots. He explained the hatchery and how they aided the "circle of life" for salmon. Then we walked down to the bear viewing area -- there was a stream with a small waterfall and you could see large salmon leaping up through the stream. There were even seals hearding some salmon along a fence so they could catch them easier. There were a mated pair of bald eagles up in one tree across the stream too. Then the black bears started to show up! They totally ignored us and walked right into the stream opened their mouth and, as if by magic, a salmon appeared in it. They made it look so easy. It was fascinating watching them catch and eat the salmon. At one point, there were six bears out. We watched for about an hour, then had to head back to get the floatplane back to Ketchikan. (Yet another bumpy ride!) This was definitely a highlight!

Pros:

Bears and salmon! Floatplane!

Cons:

Cranky busdriver

Review of Vancouver, British Columbia Canada

We loved Vancouver. After we were picked up at the airport for a night at the lovely Fairmont Waterfront, we walked to Stanley Park and a visit to the Vancouver Aquarium. The walk was easy and the views were gorgeous. There is plenty to see and do within walking distance of the port: Gastown and Dr Sun Yat Sen's Classical Chinese Garden were two other highlights.
If there is a negative, it would be for anyone with late flights the day you return from your cruise. Disney does not run their buses all day and you must arrange your own transpotation. There is a place in the port that will take your luggage to the airport for a fee, then you can take the SkyTrain for about $4 per person later.

Pros:

Walkable, friendly people, Stanley Park

Cons:

transportation to airport

Review of Skagway, Alaska

My neice and I took the Best of Skagway excursion on our August 4th, Disney Wonder Alaskan Cruise. The scenery was incredible starting with the bus ride up the mountain to the White Pass & Yukon Route Railway. We stopped several times to enjoy the incredible views and take some pictures. Once across the border, we boarded the railway cars for our trip back down the pass. Again, incredible views -- and not for the faint-hearted if you're afraid of heights or narrow places.
We were picked up at the station in Skagway and took the bus to Liarsville, a mining outpost, where we had a salmon bake (delicious!), panned for gold and were entertained by the citizens of Liarsville with a little history.
Finally, we boarded the buses back to Skagway and a tour of the Red Onion Saloon (and brothel) -- that was an interesting bit of history. Again, not for those with delicate moral sensabilities. We then walked the town to shop a bit before heading back to the ship.
This excursion was well worth every penny for the scenery and history alone. The food at the salmon bake put this one over the top.

Pros:

Scenery, history, salmon

Cons:

none

Review of Pop Century Resort (Value Resort)

I stayed at the Pop from Saturday August 2nd to Sunday August 3rd. I would say that it was a pleasant experience. I requested the 80s building with the highest floor via online check in, and got the 50s building with the highest floor. I am glad I got the 50s building anyway, because the room was facing the Art of Animation (AoA) resort (across Hourglass Lake), which is beautiful, especially at night. Plus, the room was facing the fireworks, which are spectacular. So I definitely "lucked-out" on the room view. Also, the room was away from the pool, so was very quiet. The only real con is, like a lot of reviewers say, one can hear the people in next door rooms too much (conversations, bathroom flushing, etc). I loved the fact that I could walk to the food court and bring my meal (had dinner and breakfast) back to my room and eat in peace while I browsed the internet via room Wi-Fi, which is easy to link to. I definitely had a good experience at the Pop. For me, it was like a home away from home. I really don't need all the extras that cost so much at higher priced resorts. I wish the official Pop website had said that the room has a refrigerator, but I had called the resort and they said the room does. But I wish the refrigerator had a freezer, because I brought along reusable ice packs with me for my cooler.

Pros:

relatively inexpensive compared to other Disney World resorts

Cons:

can hear next door neighbors too much

Review of 1900 Park Fare Character Dinner

Dined here on 8/16 for dinner at 4:45pm. I arrived a few minutes late but there was no wait to check in, have my photo taken, and be seated. My table was the exact same one I was at when I ate breakfast two years ago. Sylvia was my server this time around.

The dinner rolls here were absolutely amazing. I don't even know what made them so good because they were really just basic rolls! The potato salad was great. I enjoyed the potato casserole as well as the guinness stew; the pasta alfredo was good too. I did not care so much for the coconut carrot raisin salad or the vegan noodle salad. And of course, no meal here is complete without a big bowl of that amazing strawberry soup! Stand out desserts included the cheesecake and fruit tarts.

Cinderella and Prince Charming were cordial but the Tremaine family was hysterical. Lady Tremaine asked me if I was there to babysit her daughters; Drizella and I took a fantastic photo, and Anastasia and I got to be sassy redheads together.

Another great meal for this trip, and I definitely preferred the dinner experience to breakfast.

Pros:

Solid quality food, amazing character interaction
