Review of All Star Music Resort (Value Resort)

We have stayed at this resort many times. It is our favorite of the All Star Resorts because of the family suites. Having previously stayed at Art of Animation in a suite, we found the All Star Music suites to be much more acceptable for the value price. The larger and separate kitchenette at ASM is fabulous; plenty of storage space; nice sized refrigerator; microwave and sink-- very nice. We have 2 trips upcoming in the next year and plan to stay at this resort. One trip will include 2 adults and 3 teens; the other will include 3 adults, 2 teens, 2 preschoolers and 1 infant -- utilizing 2 suites.

Pros:

Large rooms with plenty of privacy options; 2 full bathrooms; kitchenette; great foodcourt; beautiful pools; love the large music icons.

Cons:

No full service restaurant (this wasn't a big deal for us but many people prefer to have that as an option). Lots of families stay here so maybe not the best choice for those who prefer a quieter setting.

Review of 'Ohana Best Friends Character Breakfast

Waiting area gets crowded but crowds are managed well. We were given at ticket at check in to greet Pluto in the lobby. The line was long and we were called to our table but we were able to meet Pluto on the way out. Breakfast starts with sweet bread and fruit brought to your table. Beverages are served. Then a family style platter with Mickey or Stitch waffles, eggs, potatoes, sausage and bacon is served. Our server was very attentive and brought us a new tray and then just additional waffles. The character interaction is great and the parade is fun for little ones.

Pros:

Great food served family style so you aren't waiting in a buffet line. Great character interaction. Beautiful hotel.

Cons:

Can get crowded in waiting area.

Review of Plaza Restaurant

We've enjoyed The Plaza on numerous trips; in fact, it's always been a MUST do. Our last trip in November, we felt that our experience was less glowing than years past. Our service was unattentive and seemed annoyed at our presence. We had the kids chicken, the endless milkshakes, the chicken sandwich, and the meatloaf. The food was standard, not wonderful, not bad. But boy oh boy, the milkshakes are delicious! I just don't know that the high price for "endless" justified drinking one and maybe a half. Will we go again? Yes. We find that the atmosphere and the laid back menu that caters to even my picky eaters still makes it a worthwhile eatery.

Pros:

Milkshakes, Location

Cons:

Service

Review of Animal Kingdom Lodge JAMBO House (Disney Vacation Club)

For our first family trip to Disney, we went big by renting points for a Savanah View Studio at Jambo House the first week of December 2017. AKL is the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever been to. Walking into the incredible lobby with the huge Christmas tree was so amazing. I had requested to be near the center of the hotel, and we had the perfect location, the first studio in the Zebra trail I believe. Our room was comfortable and we liked the style of furnishings. The balcony was amazing; we saw so many animals and I loved sitting out there in the evening, listening to the drums and relaxing. The pools at both Jambo and Kidani were amazing and never crowded. We went to Boma, The Mara, and Jiko and thought the food was delicious at all. We couldn’t have been happier, and renting points made a dream vacation financially feasible! We honestly didn’t mind waiting for buses and traveling a little further to the parks; we planned on that and got to all the parks right when we wanted to. This resort allows you to feel completely transported to a unique world while still easily enjoying Disney. Now the problem is: how can we stay anywhere else?

Pros:

Ambiance, Pools, dining, Savannah views

Cons:

A regular must-do on our trips. The buffet is varied and unique and the service is generally quite good.

Pros:

Unique buffet options. Animal Kingdom Lodge itself is also worth a visit as the atmosphere and design is well done.

Cons:

A bit out of the way if you are staying anywhere other then Animal Kingdom Lodge. We try to pair it with a day at Animal Kingdom park as it is nearby.

Review of Fort Wilderness Campground

My husband and I took our daughter and her boyfriend to WDW for a week following college graduation. The cabins at Fort Wilderness were perfect for 4 adults. We had plenty of room in the cabin without tripping over each other. The full kitchen came in very handy on those early entrance to the parks. Took our dirty laundry by golf cart to the laundry mat, clean, well lit and all washers and dryers worked. Very nice not to have a suit case full of dirty clothes when we got home. Lots of fun and free amenities for the young and young at heart.

Pros:

Large resort and not right on top of neighbors. Rented a golf cart, and what a fun way to get around the resort. Mouse Keeping always had our cabin looking fabulous - funny how college graduates looked forward to the clean towels in fun animal shapes!!! Hands down, this is our absolute favorite resort!!!!

Cons:

Our back porch light did not work. Bus home from Disney Springs took about 40 minutes to arrive.

The food was excellent and the princess character meets were awesome. Each spent a lot of time with our 4 girls. Each has their favorite and they loved it! We were given a family portrait with Aurora as part of our dinner charge.

Pros:

All the best princess' were there for our kids.

Cons:

Basic restaurant ambiance.

The buses can take a long time to get you from point a to point b. During mid day the waits are not bad but good luck around park opening and closing time. Then the cram in about 100 people. God forbid there is ever an accident with that many people onboard and half of them standing.

Pros:

air conditions

Cons:

Long waits. People are crammed in tight. Long rides depending on where you are going
