I had the pleasure of taking a co-worker to the party on 9/21/18. It was her first time visiting any park, so it was thrilling just for that fact. We dressed up and had a wonderful time. Ride lines were terrific (maybe 10 min average) & the Meet/Greet lines were maybe 15-25 min.

Pros:

short lines and able to see the whole park !!!

Cons:

Candy lines were pretty long, but it didn't deter us at all.

Hubbo and I ate here on a very hot afternoon. Checked in by a cast member who loved to say Y'All every other word, but we were seated within 15 minutes. Food was plentiful, hot and very tasty. Plenty of choices - salads, fried chicken, pulled pork and lots of desserts. Our waitress Jen was great, filling our drinks and just being sincerely friendly. Nice boat ride back to the Magic Kingdom, too.

Pros:

Food selection

Cons:

Restrooms are 2 buildings away

Review of Castaway Cay

Reviewed by Thea Review Date: 09/27/2018

Castaway Cay (CC) is Disney's private island in the Bahamas. Almost every cruise Bahamaian/Caribbean cruise visits Castaway Cay at least once.

Unlike some private islands, CC has a dock. This enables the ship to come right up to the island and people do not have to use tenders. This makes it very easy to come and go from the ship throughout the day.

The island is essential divided into three areas. The first area you come to is the boating lagoon. You can rent small sailboats, paddle boats and water trikes. This is also where you go for excursions such as parasailing, fishing and jet skis.

The second area is the family beach with a snorkeling lagoon, play area and water slides. There are plenty of loungers and umbrellas for everyone, but the beach definitely feels more crowded if you are on the Dream or Fantasy.

The third area is Serenity Bay, the adults only beach. This is a short tram-ride from the family beach. It is quieter with lots of loungers and some hammocks.

A barbecue style lunch is served on the island with hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled fish and salads and sides. Ice cream and soft drinks are included. Serenity Bay has it's own lunch area where children are not allowed.

In addition to the beaches, there are sports, bike rentals, dance parties, bars and shopping. There is a kids's club on the island with secure programming.

Castaway Cay is an amazing place and is many DCL cruiser's favorite stop.

Pros:

All the amenities, no tenders

Cons:

The slide and water play areas can get a little crowded.

We went in looking for the surf and turf which they weren't serving on our visit. We ordered the standard burgers and fries with a gallon of Diet Coke each. Nothing outstanding, just a burger. People were feeding French fries to the sparrows - so there were plenty of birds in the seating area as entertainment.

Pros:

Plenty of seating with air conditioning

Cons:

Menu needs some updating

Review of Disney Dining Plan

We love the Dining Plan. After crunching a lot of numbers, I don't think it is really more expensive than we would get on our own. Could we do it cheaper? Yes, we could. Would it be the same experience? No, it would not! We'd be pinching pennies constantly, and probably passing up some great experiences. Paying for it ahead makes it easier to relax and just enjoy the meal and experience! For me, an card-carrying cheapskate, it's the way to go. I should mention that we usually go as a couple. If we still had small kids, we might choose the Quick-Service Plan.

Pros:

Pre-payment allows one to budget easily and not have to think about the cost of each meal.

Cons:

For us, cons are few. I do wish basic tips were included, with an option to add more fore great service.

We stayed in All Star Sports resort this past May and had a wonderful time. The rooms were clean, the staff was amazing helped us with everything we needed.

Pros:

The rooms were very clean. Housekeeping were very accommodating and the overall staff was amazing. Characters during the day time for meet and greets were great. I ended up very sick came down with pneumonia and the front desk, resort manager were wonderful attending to my every need. I can not thank them enough for what they did, it was just myself and my son. He was so scared and they helped him to remain calm.

Cons:

Wish they had more of selection in the food court.

Review of Sci-Fi Dine-in Theatre Lunch/Dinner

Reviewed by Maureen Review Date: 09/27/2018

In short: Good for both the veggie and meat lover in your party. Service can be slow. Food is delicious and not too pricey. I plan to eat at Sci-Fi every trip.

In January of 2018 I ate here with my vegetarian friend, and in August of 2018 I ate here with my meat loving friend. The vegan tofu lettuce wraps were delicious, as was the vegetarian falafel burger (January), and the barbeque platter was spectacular (August) with the garden wedge salad as an appetizer (veggies were fresh, blue cheese dressing was think and came with a side of blue cheese crumbles). The food so far has been on-point and I have not been disappointed yet. Also, they have delicious milkshakes (order when you order an appetizer because they take a bit).

A major bonus is that the restaurant is quiet, and good for a date night with the "tables" being two seater car seats. If there are kids in the party, all the better - they can take the front seat and you can take the back *suggestive eyebrow wiggle*.

I will not give it 10 out of 10 because the service can be slow and the table space is limited - it's a great theme and I wouldn't change it, but it's best to be prepared with that knowledge. It's also very dark so make sure your purse is zipped up and you keep track of your belongings.

But even with the Cons, Sci-Fi is one of my favorite restaurants. It provides a physical and mental break, and can be a really intimate space (my meat-loving friend lives in another state and we were able to quietly catch up face-to-face for the first time in 5 years. Invaluable). I wouldn't pop the question to anyone here...actually, if you want to pop the question to someone that is shy, and get them some private attention from the wait staff while still not attracting the attention of the masses, this might be the perfect place to do that. The food is good, the place is quiet, the price is good, it's a great experience.

Pros:

reasonable price, good food, relaxing and quiet, always recharged after a meal

Cons:

service can be slow but letting your server know ahead of time if you have somewhere to go is always helpful - they definitely keep an eye out for you. bathrooms are shared with commissary next door which can be overcrowded and
