Review of Chip and Dale Harvest Feast at The Garden Grill

We (party of 3) ate here at 2:05pm, Tuesday, 12/18/18. The restaurant was very busy. My review is a little tainted by our server that was rushing around waiting on people and not hiding the fact that she evidently didn't want to be there. Before the meal was over I was wishing we had never come here. I asked her to bring little to no salad as we were hungry for the dinner. No use she brought a full bowl and then acted upset when she ended up taking most of it back. She brought enough turkey for one person and almost no gravy. Again she was upset when I asked for more turkey and gravy. I went the entire meal without a drink refill. The food was just below average, the reason I gave the grill such a high rating as 3 - it was edible. At $52 per person, plus drink and tax and a suggested 18% tip we shall not eat here again.

Pros:

We saw several characters - Mickey, Goofy, Chip and Dale

Cons:

Service and food that I wouldn't have eaten if we weren't at Disney.

Great resort. Nice, large, clean rooms!

Pros:

Plenty of space for 4 adults. Didn't have to wait long for buses. Aruba is only a short walk to the restaurants ( or can use internal bus). Very helpful staff. Southwest Airlines check in at the resort is very convenient!

Cons:

None

Review of Be Our Guest Dinner

Crowded with very slow service. We were seated at a table in the ballroom almost in the lobby. It was less than a foot away from the next table. I couldn’t see any of the ballroom since one person had to sit with their back to the ballroom. The couple next to us couldn’t decide if they had food allergies or not so numerous staff were called to assist them throughout their meal. As a result we had to stand and leave the table several times as everyone gathered. Also as a result our appetizers and entrees were served cold. It took over 90 minutes for the entree to arrive. The waiter brought the receipts we asked about dessert and he looked annoyed. We had other plans so just paid a tip and left. I would not return here for dinner.

Pros:

Cons:

Food is not well prepared or served in a timely manner

Extremely slow service

Pros:

Central location in magic kingdom

Cons:

Tables are much too close together. Menu is very limited to support 2 dining credits. Service is very slow due to highly demanding people at next table. Took us almost 90 minutes to get our entrees after ordering and they were cold

Personally, we've never had a bad experience here. Looking forward to our 15th trip this summer. Be advised these photos have not been updated since the renovations. Aruba and Trinidad are farthest from Old Port Royale, however, the Spyglass grill was opened in the Trinidad area and each section now has a Coke Freestyle machine in the first floor ice machine room for use with the chipped mug. The walk from Jamaica and the first two Aruba bldg isn't bad at all for most people. The entire resort is well lit after dark. Many people feel it's too big and spread out but I feel it lends to the peacefulness and I've never felt crowded. It has a wonderful tropical, island feel and I've always felt safe. Obey posted signs, use common sense and enjoy. If you should have physical restrictions just tell the cast member when booking and they'll do their best to accommodate and advise you on your best options.

Pros:

Beautiful, peaceful, friendly, accommodating.

Cons:

It really depends of individual preferences.

We had a 7:10 reservation and there was, of course, a long wait. Every restaurant had excessive waits that week. Our party of 4 was sat at a regular table, which was also disappointing. However, our server LuAnne, was great! The service was a little slow but she had great interaction with us. She really gave my DS a hard time for being on the phone too much but she didn’t get carried away with it. The food was very good. I had the chicken pot pie and ate every bite! Both kids had fried chicken and liked it, though they prefer no bones. My DH had the meatloaf which was good but he prefers my meatloaf which makes all other meatloaf look bad ; ) The kids had milkshakes with dinner, the Oreo & PB & J. The PB & J milkshake was really good, and I don’t normally care for peanut butte ice cream. We finished the meal with a apple pie ala
Mode. That is really the biggest draw back of the dinning plan. You have to get a dessert unless you substitute a salad or soup but at many restaurants they don’t have a salad to substitute. This is a good place to go, though my 1st choice would be the Sci-Fi

Pros:

Good food, fun service

Cons:

Long wait,

We had a very long wait for our reservations. Once we were seated we had to wait quite awhile for the waiter, he was pleasant but not out going. The caprese salad was just ok, the tomato’s lacked flavor but the burrata was delicious. My DS went off script and ordered fettuccine the rest of us ordered pizza for which the restaurant is known. We each shared our pizzas and they were very good. The wine was complimentary to our dinners. I don’t think the desserts were that great, which was disappointing we ordered the tiramisu, cannoli & chocolate cake. I was hoping the cannoli would have been as good as what we get at home but it had a slightly greasy taste.

Pros:

Pizza

Cons:

Long wait, average desserts

Review of Theme Park Photo Pass

We have bought Photopass for our last 3 Disney trips and have found it to be a great service in the past. Not this time, however!
There were very few photographers out. The lines for the ones you could find were very long. We were not offered any Magic Shots. The ride photos now have boarders & stickers already applied when you go to download them and you can’t remove them. This makes it really difficult to edit your ride photo to focus on your family. I didn’t spend $169 to get ride photos of other families. I’m just not sure I could continue to recommend this service

Pros:

None this trip

Cons:

Not enough photographers No magic shots offered

Review of Beach Club Resort (Deluxe Resort)

This was the 1st time we stayed at BC. Overall, our party of 4 was pleased with our stay. When we got to the hotel our room was ready. We got 2606, which was an accessible room. My initial thought was to change to a regular room the next day. However, my family liked the larger layout of the accessible room. The room was huge! My DD had a full size fold out and DS was able to have the other bed to himself. There was a very large balcony with a view of some garden and the covered outdoor seating for the BC Marketplace. The only complaint with the room was that the bathroom didn’t have the split design that is common at Deluxe resorts.
The hotel amenities are the same as most Disney Deluxe resorts. There was a QS that had basic but good food choices, though we only had breakfast. One TS Cape May, it has a character breakfast buffet in the mornings and a seafood buffet at night. The character buffet is good, we’ve been twice and had good service, food & character experience each time. Then there is Hurricane Hannah’s at the pool which had good service basic food. There is a lounge Crew’s Cup which offers a standard drink menu and some small plates. The drinks were well made and our server was friendly. We were unable to get into Beaches & Cream- this is a very popular spot and you will probably need reservations 180 days in advance if you want to eat here.
Stormalong Bay is the best pool at WDW. It was very cold the week we visited, so we didn’t get to use the pool as much as we would like but I will definitely go back during a warmer time to enjoy it. There was a lot of seating both tables & loungers.
The lobby during the holidays has a wonderful gingerbread carousel. There is a lot of traffic to see it and wait for Cape May.
The only real complaint was the inconsistent mousekeeping. There were two different days that we had to call for cleaning after 5 pm. That was unexpected. I would highly recommend BC during the warmer months for the pool. I would not recommend trying the walk to HS at this time. It took 30 minutes just to get to the gate but once the construction is completed and the walk to HS is more manageable, this would be a top pick for our family

Pros:

Close to EPCOT, theming, cast members POOL!!

Cons:

Walk way construction to HS, mousekeeping

We ate here the first night of our trip. DS was very busy that night and the line was out the door. I would recommend using the Mobile Ordering. My DD & I split the Southern Burger and fries. The burger was delicious, spicy but not overly so. The fries crispy and good. My DH & DS each had a classic burger with fries. Everyone agreed that these burgers were some of the best on Disney property and the fries were great! I would Definitely go back but use mobile ordering

Pros:

Good burgers! Good price

Cons:

Long lines
