Review of Wilderness Lodge (Deluxe Resort)

This is my husband and my favorite resort :-D! We've stayed at Wilderness for our honeymoon and on another vacation and both times the place is great :-D! The overall theming, bars (Territory Lounge and Trout Pass) are fun, pool and hot tubs. We will be back, and recommend it highly to all!
Pros:
So many :-D! Spacious rooms The lobby (fun and picturesque- the bridge, springs, and geyser are a wonderful photo op) The Mercantile- yes all Disney hotel shops are expensive, but you can find all sorts of things here- one of a kind gifts and just Mickey tees if that's your thing! Four of us walked in for breakfast on Saturday 7/13 around 10:00 and were seated within 15 minutes. It wasn't TOO hot so we opted to sit outside under a fan. Our server was good and recommended a couple "adult" beverages when we asked. My daughter's bloody mary was practically a meal in itself - she loved it. My mimosa was lovely and quite enjoyed. We split the crab cake eggs benedict and added an extra order of Olivia's potatoes... YUM! One of our party was gluten free and she thoroughly enjoyed her Mickey waffles. Another lady got the *huge* side order of biscuits & gravy that were sooo good. She also tried a new mimosa that was being trialed that morning. One of the managers came around to see how she was liking it.
All in all, a great breakfast before taking the boat to Disney Springs for a day of shopping!

The show prior to the Up remake was the best bird show I've ever seen. The Up version is the worst bird show I've ever seen: unfunny, slow-paced, even annoying.

Show seemed to have less birds than Flights of wonder. Previous host was much more entertaining and funny.

Lunch at Be Our Guest. You try very hard to get reservations for Be Our Guest. You get them and celebrate. Then when the time comes, you wait in a very long line outside to get in to the place, order your food from a machine, then wander around a crazy, loud, busy dining room to find an empty (not clean) table. We went with extended family, about 10 of us total, and it was a nightmare for all of us to find a place to sit. By the time our food came, I thought some of our party was going to lose their tempers (very out of character!). Food was very "ok" is the best I could say. Cold, severely over-cooked. If something doesn't come out right, good luck. There is no one you can find to help you. Not what you would expect from an experience requiring a reservation. We will likely never go back. I just don't know why anyone who goes once would find it something they would want to do again.

What a disappointment.The previous show, Flights of Wonder or something similar, was so funny and entertaining. This new version with Up characters is surprisingly boring, slow moving, not enough birds. We always made the bird show a high priority during our WDW visits but no longer. Given the show is outdoors, it's not even a "at least its a respite from the heat" thing to do. Unfortunately, I can't say I recommend taking time out of your precious Disney day to watch this. Instead, take your time walking Pangini Trail or Maharajah Jungle Trek.

We were looking forward to eating here as we loved the lotus blossom cafe food. This was a big disappointment. Deep fried chicken nuggets with not much sauce and very little flavor. Little to no vegetables with them and only white rice. The hot and sour soup was very bland. We have had better Chinese food from take out restaurants.
