Review of Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

Horrendous. We asked at the start of the ride if this one was scary and the attendant assured us it wasn’t. He said it’s a slow gentle ride and you only tip back onto your back a few times. Lies! The best way I can describe it is that it’s exactly like what I imagine Hell would be. Horrible, screaming sounds at top volume while you are violently rocked back and forth and onto your back then spit on by a dragon. It was so awful, I had to keep my eyes closed the entire time. Felt sick for a while after. As we were walking away, I heard the attendant telling another concerned looking family, how gentle the ride was. I almost went over to correct him but didn’t want to be rude.

Pros:

The ride eventually ended

Cons:

Nausea, terror

Review of Contemporary Resort (Deluxe Resort)

The only reason this resort did not receive a 10/10 is the lack of storage in the room. Disney could remove one section of the oversized couch and put a dresser and this room would easily be a 10/10. I stayed as a solo traveler for a week and like to unpack, luckily it was just me as I used up all the drawer space. I absolutely love the Contemporary, I'm trying to stay at different resorts but I keep looking at the Contemporary for my next trip. The room I had in the main tower was quiet, I was on the Bay Lake side and fell in love with the view. If staying on the lake side, you have a front row seat to the electric water pageant. The sunrise from Bay Lake is now my go to happy memory. Also, for those of us that love a mickey pretzel, the Sand Bar at the Contemporary has homemade cheese sauce that makes the mickey pretzel next level! Yes, you can get a mickey pretzel from the Sand Bar too. I know the theming of the Incredibles is either a love it or hate it, I am on the love it side. I love what Disney did with the restrooms giving a large countertop is perfect, they should do this with all resorts.

Pros:

Great location. You can walk to Magic Kingdom in 10-15 minutes. Cast members are awesome! I found the buses were very fast when coming to the resort. When I was there we shared a bus with Wilderness Lodge.

Cons:

The rooms need better storage. The elevator lines can get out of control at peak times, I found the lines to be worse at night. Be prepared mentally for guests to cut the line.

Review of Tony's Town Square Lunch/Dinner

I came back to Tony's Town Square in September 2023 and found the new menu to be really good! I had a read a review prior to making reservations that a new chef had updated the menu. I tried the new garlic bread, it was very good, the bread was crispy with the perfect amount of garlic. For my entrée I had the chicken parmesan and it was great! I could not eat all of the chicken, it was a large portion, well worth the price.

Pros:

Great location right inside Magic Kingdom. Friendly staff. New Chef has put this restaurant back on the map.

Cons:

The restroom with the restaurant is very small, might be a better idea to go further down main street USA if leaving the restaurant.

Review of TRON Lightcyle Run

So, TRON and I have a love–hate relationship: it loves me to ride it, but I hate riding it! All joking aside, it's an extremely fun and thrilling coaster delivering an experience like no other ride in Disney World, especially its insanely fast launch. Something to be aware of is that the ride vehicles are motorcycle-style where the seating position has you almost leaning forward flat on your belly. The seating position, in addition to the very hard materials used to construct the ride vehicles, make for a very uncomfortable ride for some. Fortunately, there are modified (traditional roller-coaster) seats on the last row of some of the trains in case you do not prefer the riding position of a Lightcycle. This ride also doesn't currently offer a standby line, so the only way to ride it is to join the virtual queue or purchase an Individual Lightning Lane (cost fluctuates based on demand). I certainly understand this ride being a one-and-done for some guests as the long wait may not be worth just a 60-second ride, but I still recommend everyone riding it at least once for the launch alone.

Pros:

The launch!

Cons:

No standby line, uncomfortable ride vehicles, short ride length

I reviewed this when it first opened and am happy to say they have fixed the waiting issue. We were in and out of there quickly. We were not rushed out or anything, but we don’t like to spend a lot of time eating. Food was good. Service was excellent and the theming is the best!!

Pros:

Fast, family style, lots to pick from.

Cons:

Crowded and loud.

Review of Sunshine Seasons

This quick-service location in the Land Pavilion offers a wide array of options to satisfy the most discriminating palates. It's akin to a mall food court with different stations, self-service beverages, and even a grab-and-go section to maximize precious park time! While there is a lot of seating, it can fill up during peak mealtimes. It certainly doesn't have the most exciting food in the Park (visit World Showcase during a festival for that!), but it does get the job done in a pinch. It doesn't offer mobile order, so just bear that in mind as well. Even if you don't stop to eat here, it's a great place to grab some FREE ice water while passing by. It's also in a great location being proximate to two rock-star attractions in the Land Pavilion: Soarin' and Living with the Land! One downside is that the hot food stations can close VERY early on some days (I'm talking 4pm), so just be mindful of that and plan accordingly, especially if you plan on having dinner here.

Pros:

Wide variety of options, large dining area, proximity to attractions

Cons:

Inconsistent operating hours, no mobile order
