Went twice this past week during my trip. Love this place. Selection of food is why I go. So many choices. I know lots of people say it’s loud and crowded but if you go right when they open like I did then the first 15-20 minutes of your meal are quite peaceful
Pros:
1- The selection of items… so many choices for breakfast they have everything you could possibly want. 2- Classic Disney atmosphere Disney music in background, characters, great vibes makes you feel like a kid again. 3- The strawberry and blueberry compotes/sauces you can put on your waffles and pancakes were amazing and a highlight of my meal 4- The characters dance/sing every 45 minutes or so and it’s very enjoyable to watchCons:
1- Super expensive, although I loved my meal it’s very hard to justify the cost 2- Character interactions are great but very rushed especially compared to other character dining experiences. Each character spent about 30 seconds at my table max. 3- Can get crowded and loud, although if you book the first available time slot it’s not too bad for the first 15-20 minutes as the restaurant is still not full yetReviewed by ShawnLopez Review Date: 08/05/2024

I recently ate breakfast at Chef Mickey’s on my most recent trip. First and foremost, this restaurant is specifically designed for families. It is SO noisy and there are so many kids running around; plus it’s located in the middle of the Contemporary's atrium with all the hustle and bustle that entails. The restaurant does have an excellent wait staff that is constantly checking up on you and filling up your drinks. The restaurant is a self service buffet with traditional American breakfast faire.
The food itself is nothing to write home to. It’s fine, but you don’t go here for the food anyways. It’s all about the CHARACTERS! The fab 5 are here in their chefs costumes and they are so cute. They all come to your table for mini meet and greets; plus, the cast members come by and make sure they don't miss your table. They also do a little dance show every so after. We also got a card with all their signatures. Overall, the meal is fine, but there are other better character breakfast spots in WDW.
Pros:
Characters! It's great for families with little kids.Cons:
It's expensive for breakfast The food is average.Reviewed by Anonymous Review Date: 07/04/2024

We had a large party of 10 with two small children. There were plenty of selections and generally all were good. The bacon was crisp! French toast with vanilla sauce, beignets were excellent, nice fresh fruit. I am not a breakfast eater but I really enjoyed the meal as did the rest of our party. The service was good and all the Fab Five came by and were very patient. Yes expensive and not top notch cuisine but... a little noisy but hey there are kids there. We usually eat breakfast at O hana but thought this was better.
Pros:
Food was very good for a buffet. The fab five! and since buffet quick to get foodCons:

The location of the restaurant is horrendous. Low ceilings, yellow lighting and loud airport lobby vibes.
It reminded me of Chuck E. Cheese.
Compared to Topolinos, I would never go to Chef Mickeys again.
Topolinos is a stunning location with incredible views, much better quality food and even better character intercations.
Chef Mickeys was a huge let down, the food is good (a few dishes even great!), the cast members were the best part, great photopass location at the front of the restaurants.
However, the location is dingy, it's sooo loud, chaotic, and it just feels \"cheap\".
Would never recommend this location.
Go to Topolino's or Cape May if you want a great character experience outside of the park.
Otherwise just use Genie+ for a character meet and greet in the park and have Mickey waffles right at your own resort, save your money and save your time this location is not worth it.
Pros:
The staff were so professional and energetic, great with kids!Cons:
Dingy atmosphere, very loud and feels like you are dining inside of an airport Chuck E. Cheese in the 90s. Go anywhere else but here, totally overhyped.Reviewed by Anonymous Review Date: 08/16/2023

This was my kids\\' favorite meal during our trip. They loved the dancing and interaction of the characters and still sing the \\\"biscuits in the oven\\\" song haha. The staff was extraordinary here and that bumped up my review score. The food was delicious too, especially the brisket and potato casserole, along with the specialty breakfast drinks.
Pros:
fun and engaging; amazing staff, yummy food and drinksCons:

We took our family here because my daughter's boyfriend is a Chef and it was a big surprise. The character meeting was great and the whole family loved it. The only thing is that the food didn't give much of a choice.
Pros:
CharactersCons:
Not much of a choice for food.Reviewed by Anonymous Review Date: 07/13/2022

I think you need to do one of the meals. For kids breakfast is probably better. The cheesy potatoes are the best. The experience is what is what you are paying for, not the food primarily. Over all you only need to do it one time.
Pros:
characters, new menu is better than past.Cons:
The price could be not worth it depending on the person.Reviewed by TattooedtravelOT Review Date: 06/12/2022

I may be spoiled as I think Topolinos is amazing and was comparing Chef Mickey's to my experience at Topolino's, but this lacked any real magic. The characters were okay, but the song/dance portion was quick and we only saw two characters during it. The food, it was basic and overwhelming to have a whole table of food in front of you. It would be nice if the first course of bread/yogurt/fruit was brought out a little before the rest of the meal and then cleared from the table so there aren't stacks of food and plates all over. We hardly had room for our drinks. The man that dropped our food off never even told us what any of it was. The worst dishes were the very dry brisket and sausages and hte best was the potato casserole. That being said it was all very basic and nothing to rave about. I know everyone says you aren't paying for the food, its for the experience which is fine, but having food that is hot and an experience that isn't rushed would make this better.
