The location of the restaurant is horrendous. Low ceilings, yellow lighting and loud airport lobby vibes.
It reminded me of Chuck E. Cheese.
Compared to Topolinos, I would never go to Chef Mickeys again.
Topolinos is a stunning location with incredible views, much better quality food and even better character intercations.
Chef Mickeys was a huge let down, the food is good (a few dishes even great!), the cast members were the best part, great photopass location at the front of the restaurants.
However, the location is dingy, it's sooo loud, chaotic, and it just feels \"cheap\".
Would never recommend this location.
Go to Topolino's or Cape May if you want a great character experience outside of the park.
Otherwise just use Genie+ for a character meet and greet in the park and have Mickey waffles right at your own resort, save your money and save your time this location is not worth it.

Pros:

The staff were so professional and energetic, great with kids!

Cons:

Dingy atmosphere, very loud and feels like you are dining inside of an airport Chuck E. Cheese in the 90s. Go anywhere else but here, totally overhyped.

Not worth it

Pros:

5 or so characters come to your table, if you haven’t gone before, go One time

Cons:

Bring back the buffet, the price is too high for sausage, bacon, biscuits, hash brown casserole, waffles and pancakes.

I may be spoiled as I think Topolinos is amazing and was comparing Chef Mickey's to my experience at Topolino's, but this lacked any real magic. The characters were okay, but the song/dance portion was quick and we only saw two characters during it. The food, it was basic and overwhelming to have a whole table of food in front of you. It would be nice if the first course of bread/yogurt/fruit was brought out a little before the rest of the meal and then cleared from the table so there aren't stacks of food and plates all over. We hardly had room for our drinks. The man that dropped our food off never even told us what any of it was. The worst dishes were the very dry brisket and sausages and hte best was the potato casserole. That being said it was all very basic and nothing to rave about. I know everyone says you aren't paying for the food, its for the experience which is fine, but having food that is hot and an experience that isn't rushed would make this better.

Pros:

the characters, all you care to enjoy, super kid friendly

Cons:

quality of food and service

Avoid if Possible. We are so disappointed. Scheduled breakfast for our last morning. In the past the food was slightly above average. This time around just awful. Served family style at your table, there are almost no healthy choices. Even the yogurt is topped with chocolate chips. The reconstituted scrambled eggs were liquid-y… all the meat products very oily. No refills offered on drinks. Adult price was $42…….. the characters do make a 45 second appearance. In addition, unbelievable food waste because they can’t serve what you don’t eat to anyone else.

Pros:

Location

Cons:

Cost, food quality , food selection

We did not have a good experience partly because of our own mistake. Our party of six included 4 children ages 9, 7, 4 and a baby. I did not anticipate my 4 year old being terrified of the characters. My mistake! She is. It normally fearful (she rode Space Mountain later in the day) so I was not expecting her to be terrified of them. So, before sitting down for a meal with this price it would be good for you to know how children will fare. I know...I know...this mistake was on me. I was not quite prepared for the server's tip to be automatically added in. We were a party of 6 but one was a baby. I don't consider myself a cheapskate but $25 for a server who came to our table twice was steep. Food was decent, nothing outstanding. I was really looking forward to this meal as it was our first time but I was underwhelmed.

Pros:

Access to characters, location

Cons:

Automatically adding in tip for party of 6 that includes an infant

We had ADR and waited about 15 minutes. The characters are great but the food is awful. Not worth the money you pay. We were on the dining plan, but if I had paid cash for this meal I would have been upset. If you want great characters and great food, go to Ohana character breakfast. It is so much better than this one.

Pros:

Characters

Cons:

Food

We ate breakfast here on 11/9/13. They were quick to seat us and the service was good as well. The food was another story. We have been eating here for years. For the last few years, it has been for the characters (and not the food since the food has been in steady decline). It has the Fab 5, nattily dressed, making for great pics. After this trip, I think we may call it a day on this one. The choices on the buffet and the quality of the food have reached a level that has become unacceptable for what you pay. I found very little that was appetizing on the buffet and ate very little as a result. Our kids are getting older and pics with the characters are not as important to them anymore. We will probably look for better food and less characters in future trips to Disney.

Pros:

Characters

Cons:

Food

This used to be a favorite character meal of ours, and we recently returned on our January 2013 trip. Unfortunately, the quality of food isn't what it used to be, and the time with the characters was very rushed.

I don't think we'll be returning to this restaurant. We've found character meals at other resorts that we prefer.

Pros:

Classic characters

Cons:

Quality of food
