Carthay Circle Restaurant: The Glamour of Hollywood’s Golden Age Meets the History and Heritage of Disney

Posted on
With the new Buena Vista Street, instead of depicting California as it is today, guests are transported to Los Angeles of the 1920s, the time when Walt Disney first arrived. Now much more similar to Main Street USA at Disneyland, Buena Vista Street includes an array of shopping, dining, and entertainment. Guests can hop aboard the Red Car Trolley as it takes them past stores such as Oswald's Gas and Oil, Elias and Company Department Store, Mortimer's Market, and the Fiddler, Fifer and Practical Cafe and Bakery. The crown jewel of Buena Vista Street, however, is a replica of the Carthay Circle Theater; it has become to California Adventure what Sleeping Beauty Castle is at Disneyland or Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom.

Kona Cafe: More Than Just Tonga Toast

Posted on
When it comes to breakfast at Disney World, the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian Resort is one of my personal favorites. With mouthwatering offering such as their Macadamia-Pineapple Pancakes and Tonga Toast, it is no surprise that Kona Cafe is an incredibly popular dining location and is typically packed each and every morning. For all the hype it receives for breakfast, however, I had heard far less about what the dining experience is like at Kona Cafe for lunch or dinner. Since most visitors to Disney World are typically out and about in the parks during the middle of the day, many of the restaurants at the resorts tend to be overlooked. Therefore, I was very intrigued to see if lunch at Kona Cafe lived up to the outstanding meals I have had there for breakfast.

Citricos: A Touch of the Mediterranean at the Grand Floridian

The Grand Floridian alone features three Signature dining locations, quite a feat considering that there are only about a dozen of these Signature restaurants in all of Disney World. Known for requiring two credits when on the dining plan, Disney defines its Signature restaurants as "providing unparalleled cuisine served in elegant and relaxed surroundings." The restaurants at the Grand Floridian certainly live up to this billing and one such dining location is Citricos.

Food, Fun, and Family at Ohana

Among friends and family, people continue to tell me how Ohana is one of their favorite restaurants in all of Disney World and that they go there every time they visit. It comes as no surprise that reservations for Ohana are some of the hardest to come by amongst all Disney dining locations. For these reasons, the bar is always set very high when dining at Ohana and yet the restaurant continues to live up to these expectations time and time again. Ohana is definitely a restaurant not to be missed and it offers a dining experience unlike any other.
