What I Wish I’d Known About This Life-Changing Disney World Hack

For as long as Disney World has existed, guests staying on property have had access to a slew of special perks exclusively available to them. Currently, Early Entry is one of the most popular.

Guests staying at Walt Disney World resort hotels have access to Early Entry, a 30-minute period where they can enter each of Walt Disney World’s theme parks before they officially open every day of their stay (including check-in and check-out days), so they have a chance to head to select in-demand attractions a half an hour before. Sounds great, right? It is, but there’s something that you need to keep in mind.

Let’s take a look at the attractions currently available for Early Entry at each Walt Disney World park:

Notice anything? Specifically, what’s missing? Despite what some might think, not every Walt Disney World attraction is open during the Early Entry period. In particular, the Magic Kingdom only sees Fantasyland and Tomorrowland (minus TRON: Lightcycle/Run) open during the extra half hour, meaning that popular Adventureland and Frontierland attractions like the Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and the newly refurbished Big Thunder Mountain are unavailable during Early Entry. In addition, most food spots in the parks (outside of restaurants that allow early reservations) aren’t open yet either.

Hotel guests with Early Entry who want to specifically rope drop an attraction unavailable during the extra half hour can instead make sure they’re lining up in the right “corral” in the right spot to get to their ride of choice. So, for example, a guest who wants to rope drop Big Thunder Mountain Railroad should be in the corral closest to the Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland.

Early Entry is one of Walt Disney World’s most popular hotel perks, but guests need to know that not everything at the resort is available during the extra half-hour each morning. Stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney tips.
