For many Disney World guests looking to avoid the hassle of parking or the crushing crowds of the resort’s transportation system at park opening or closing, Uber is the rideshare service of choice.

However, before booking your ride around Disney World, there are some “rules” you need to keep in mind.
Have the App Ready
Make sure you have the Uber app downloaded and up to date on your phone; that way, you’re not rushing to download or update it (especially over Disney World’s Wi-Fi) when trying to get to or back to your hotel from one of the theme parks.

Stay Charged
In addition to keeping your app updated, make sure your phone is charged — or attached to an external charger — when you plan to call your Uber, as the last thing you want is your phone dying after you’ve summoned your ride. Then you’ll be stuck with a way to contact your driver and verify their identity if you do find them.

Compare, Compare, COMPARE!
Look, we understand that brand — or app in this case — loyalty is a thing. However, we’d suggest checking the prices for Lyft and even Disney’s Minnie Van service to compare prices, as dynamic pricing can be vastly different across platforms.

Give Yourself Time
Make sure to give yourself enough time to get to your ride when booking. For example, if you’re still on Main Street at the end of the night and you’re not making it to the TTC within 5 minutes. So, don’t call your Uber too early.

Remember, You Can Prearrange Pickups
You can arrange your pickup time, which is especially valuable during busy times like the Holiday Season, but once again, ensure you’re at the pickup point at the correct time.

Know the Pickup Locations
Each Disney World park, as well as Disney Springs, has specific pickup locations for rideshare services like Uber. They are as follows:
- Magic Kingdom: The Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC).
- EPCOT: Main parking lot entrance lane, on the far left side.
- Hollywood Studios: Load zones 51–57 in the bus loop.
- Animal Kingdom: Front of the parking lot, off to the right side.
- Disney Springs: Marketplace Loop: On the east side (near Earl of Sandwich) and on the West Side Loop near the Strawberry Parking Lot/Cirque du Soleil theater.

Stay Clear on Hotel Rules
Hotel guests can generally be dropped off and picked up at their hotel’s main entrance IF they have a room or dining reservation. Our friend AJ from DisneyFoodBlog recently learned that lesson the hard way at the Polynesian Village Resort. On a recent visit, an Uber driver was planning to drop her off at the hotel’s entrance, but Cast Members informed her Uber driver that she had to be dropped off at the TTC since she didn’t have a room or restaurant reservation at the hotel.

Stay SAFE!
Part of the appeal of a Disney World vacation is being able to leave the real world behind and stay inside the Disney bubble. However, Disney World does exist in the real world, and if you’re taking an Uber, you should still follow all the safety precautions you normally would. That includes matching the vehicle’s plates as well as your driver’s photo and name to the app before getting in the car.
