Another day, another Disney World lawsuit. According to new court documents, a former guest at the resort is suing Disney due to a stay at the All-Star Sports Resort.

David Besse is suing Walt Disney World due to what he claims were numerous bed bug bites from the resort that have caused “permanent” damage.

The lawsuit was filed on March 31st, 2026, with the Orange County Clerk. Walt Disney World is being sued for damages of $50,000, excluding interest, costs, and attorneys’ fees.

Besse stayed at Disney’s All-Star Sports hotel on May 15th, 2022, and the lawsuit says he “was bitten numerous times by cirnicidae (“bed bugs”).” The lawsuit says Disney World owed him a duty to “use reasonable care” by maintaining the hotel in safe conditions and to warn guests about potential “perils.”

The court documents state that Disney failed Besse by neglecting care at the resort. The documents claim Besse “suffered carring, bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, mental anguish, loss of the capacity for the enjoyment of life, medical expenses, loss of earning, loss of the ability to earn money, financial loss, and property damage.” The suit continues to say that these losses are permanent or continuing and that Besse will suffer losses in the future due to this issue.

The suit is requesting a trial by jury, judgment for damages and costs, and anything further that the court deems appropriate. This is a developing story. We always recommend that guests check any hotels for bed bugs before settling in as an abundance of caution. According to Orkin, Bed bugs are typically 3/16 inch long, making them hard to spot. Their color can also range from red to dark brown, and these insects are mostly nocturnal. Be sure to keep following AllEars for more Disney World updates, news, and more.

  1. What the really stupid part is, anyone with common sense would know you have to check a few things when you check in to a hotel, motel, etc. TIP #1 is to check under the pillows and under the mattress itself. Bed bugs leave a trail, it looks like blackish, brownish spots or smears or dots, depending on the life stage. It’s gross. If you check as soon as you go into the room, you won’t have any problems. For all the rooms Disney has, you have to figure that there may be some cleaning staff that don’t take pride in their job. They hurry through and do the bare minimum. (there are people like that in every occupation!) You can ask for another room if anything is unsatisfactory and Disney will accommodate or if it’s minor, like a cleaning issue, fix it. There are a ridiculous amount of tips online many of them also suggest putting suitcases in the bathtub or bathroom while checking out the room. I started doing this as soon as I read it. It makes a lot of sense. (I once had a styrofoam cup in the keurig, in the compartment where the water goes. You have to be diligent. Incidentally, I only discovered what was in the keurig because I always clean them myself. In this case, I got a whole new one, just incase someone screwed up the first one by blocking the water.) One year, our room had ten pins taken out of a pinbook. Valuable pins, not just traders. Please take advantage of the safe in the room! Lock up all valuables and medications. Things happen, you have to be prepared.

  2. This is the 4th “suing” of Disney I’ve read this year. Could be more, I don’t know, but,$50,000 is always the sought amount. I stay at Disney resorts about every 6 weeks and have never found any problems, at all. Certainly not bed bugs, or a Fentanyl laced teaspoon left on the floor.
I’m curious if the same law firm is representing these “clients.” If so, and the claims are found to be false, then some attorney somewhere needs to be disbarred or at the very least, heavily fined – maybe to the tune of $50,000 per fraudulent case.
How are you permanently damaged by bed bug bites? If that’s true, we are all probably damaged by mosquito bites!
Please, if you aren’t truly injured, don’t make the parks more expensive for everyone. If you are truly damaged, then my apologies.
