When To Check Into Your Flight So You Get the BEST Seats

Checking in for your flight at the wrong time can cost you a great seat before you even get to the airport.

Airlines fill seats progressively during check-in, and waiting too long when you need multiple seats grouped together is a gamble you don’t want to take.

If you’re flying solo and want a more forward seat, waiting a few hours past opening can work in your favor, but don’t drag it out to the wire. The risk of a high sequence number and potential standby status is very real, particularly on full flights.

Ultimately, the best seat isn’t always the one you paid extra to select at booking. Sometimes it’s about knowing when to hit that check-in button.
