NEW Hotel Closure Hits Disney World Next Week

One of our favorite Disney World activities is resort hopping and exploring all of the incredible resorts on property!

Wilderness Lodge

However, if you’re hoping to make a stop at this fan favorite resort, starting next week, it’s getting a little complicated.

Starting on April 13th, the docks and boats at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will be CLOSED for refurbishment, and it’s looking like they won’t reopen until May 1st, 2026.

This will obviously impact the guests staying at this resort. It could also impact your Magic Kingdom day.

Since you can take a boat directly from the park to this resort, many people love to hop over to experience this beautiful hotel or eat at some incredible restaurants. Like the gorgeous Artist Point or the hilarious and fun Whispering Canyon!

So pretty!

However, while the docks will be under refurbishment through July, the boats will begin running again on May 1st! So the boats will only be unavailable for a few weeks.

If you still want to visit this during those weeks, don’t worry! In place of the boats, Disney will be running buses to and from the Magic Kingdom. So you can still visit Wilderness Lodge, just in a slightly less cool mode of transportation.

The dock refurbishment is happening alongside the ongoing resort refurbishment, affecting the main resort as well as the Copper Creek Cabins and Villas.  This is set to continue through late 2026, and could potentially mean noise or obstructed views, so it’s something to consider when booking your Disney Resort.
