Heads up, theme park fans: we’re just weeks away from one of the biggest — and in the past, most newsworthy — industry events of the year.
The 2025 International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo is scheduled to take place in Orlando this November, with programming spread between November 17th and the 21st. In my 7+ years writing about the theme park industry, the IAPPA Expo has often been the first place to see new ride technology and concepts. We’re talking the newest innovations in the food & beverage space, new rides and equipment, show production and design, and new water park designs. It’s all available for theme park press — and more importantly — executives who may implement these new concepts in their parks.
In recent years, several new ride systems have debuted at IAAPA. For example, at the 2023 event, SeaWorld debuted its snowmobile-style roller coaster vehicles for its upcoming Penguin Trek coaster.
Even Disney has a presence at IAAPA, and while Disney generally saves its biggest announcements for its own D23 events, there still has been a consistent flow of Disney news to come out of the expo in the last decade, including updates on Avengers Campus in Disneyland and Disneyland Paris, details about festivals and why they’re of critical importance to theme parks, and even news about food establishments like Gideon’s Bakehouse.
2025’s IAAPA Expo will be held in its traditional home, the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), and will see programming broken down as such:
- Show Trade: Nov 18th – 21st
- Education: Nov 17th – 20th
- Show Floor: Nov 18th – 21st

… and nonmembers.
In addition, tickets to related special events are also available, including two built around Epic Universe.
The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions was first founded in 1918, and currently represents over 6,000 amusement-industry members in more than 100 countries, and operates several global attractions-industry trade shows.
