It looks like your kiddos are going to be taking over your Disney+ subscription soon.

Disney Jr. just announced its plans for what’s coming next to Disney+. Disney has officially greenlit two brand-new series, and they’re both based on very popular franchises. Let’s take a look at what’s to come!
During the “Disney Jr. Let’s Play!” fan event over at Disney California Adventure, Ayo Davis, President of Disney Branded Television, announced everything coming soon. The first is a big one, people. A new Cars: Lightning Racers series is coming to Disney+! The show will be inspired by Disney Pixar’s iconic movie Cars.

The new series, Cars: Lightning Racers, will follow Lightning McQueen as he races into new adventures in Radiator Springs. Of course, he’ll be alongside his best friend Mater, along with some new friends in town. This will include Pipes, a thrill-seeking drag car, and Miles, a mud-loving monster truck.

If you weren’t excited yet, wait ’til you hear this next part. Some of the film’s original cast members are returning to reprise their roles! This will include Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen, Larry the Cable Guy as Mater, Tony Shalhoub as Luigi, Cheech Marin as Ramone, Bob Peterson as Chick Hicks, and John Ratzenberger as Mack.

Joining some of the original cast are Leah Lewis (Elemental) and Yuri Lowenthal (Marvel Rivals video game), who will be playing Pipes and Miles, respectively. Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary) will also voice a new character, Ms. Blinker. The series will be produced by Disney Television Animation in association with Pixar. We wonder if it will have a 2D style, like some other Disney shows, or if it will stick with 3D animation. We can’t wait to find out!

The second announcement was for a new show called Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends, which will be the first-ever preschool Avengers series. This new series evolves from the new Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends, which officially premieres on August 11th on Disney Jr., and will premiere the next day on Disney+ (August 12th).

The new series will introduce kid versions of the Avengers we all know and love, including Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, Black Panther, Black Widow, and Thor (where’s the love for Hawkeye?). The young Avengers will come together to face many super villains. Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends will be produced by Disney Jr. and Marvel Studios in association with Atomic Cartoons.

Also from Disney Jr. and Marvel Studios, there will be two 22-minute Marvel’s Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team Up! specials coming. The episodes will debut on October 16th, 2026, on Disney Jr., then Disney+. Disney gave us a first look, which you’ll see below.

Both of the new shows, Cars: Lightning Racers and Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends, will premiere on Disney Jr. and Disney+ in 2027.
