Welp, It’s Official. I’m DONE Planning My 2025 Disney World Christmas Trip After Reading This

Disney World during the holidays always feels extra magical. Whether it is watching the snoap fall as you are walking down Main Street, U.S.A. or admiring the gorgeous Wilderness Lodge Christmas tree, we look forward to the holidays each and every year.

Snoap on Main Street

Disney World is the most magical place on Earth, and we think that is especially true during the holidays. Whether you travel to Disney World every year for the holidays or this is your first time spending Christmas at Disney World, we are sharing all the tips you need to make it the best trip.

Plan for Florida Weather

While Florida is often known for being hot and humid, it can get cool during the winter months. Sometimes it can even feel downright cold! Don’t stop at just packing some t-shirts and shorts, we highly recommend bringing layers so you can adjust your outfit based on the weather. It is possible that during your trip, there might be some warm days, and some cold days, so plan accordingly and bring a variety of options.

A rainy and cold day in Magic Kingdom

It is not uncommon to see most people wearing pants and a light jacket during the winter months. You may even want a gloves and hat, just in case. We want you to be comfortable and ready to tackle Disney World! Also make sure you pack rain gear, you never know when it might rain in Florida! As always, make sure you check the weather as you are approaching your trip, so you can get a better idea of the weather to expect.

Plan For Holiday Festivities, But Don’t Over-Pack Your Schedule

We love the holiday season in Disney World because there is just so much to do! You can check out the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, attend special parties in Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, admire all the decorations around the parks and hotels, grab special food and drinks, and so much more. It can be so easy to pack your days full of things to do so you don’t miss out on anything.

However, if you go from rope drop to park close every single day of your vacation, you are going to be downright exhausted. Pick your highest priority items and make sure they are accounted for but also plan for breaks and maybe even a day for relaxing in the middle of your trip. You won’t be able to see everything at Disney World, and that’s okay! Make sure you make room for your high priority items and then everything else is just icing on the cake.

Decide What to Splurge On

As you decide what your highest priority items are, also decide what you want to splurge on. Do you want to splurge on a fancy room or maybe you want to splurge on a dining experience? Don’t forget that special holiday parties are also going on during Christmas time too, so decide if those are something your family wants to do.

Jollywood Nights

Over in Magic Kingdom, you can attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney’s Hollywood Studios hosts Jollywood Nights. Both of these parties require separate ticket purchases, so you will want to plan ahead if you want to attend. You may also want to budget out some additional funds for grabbing some food or drink at the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.

Take Advantage of Discounts

There are lots of ways to save on your Disney World vacation! Disney+ subscribers, Disney Visa cardholders, Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club members, and more might be able to snag deals on tickets, merchandise, hotel rooms, and even dining. Definitely make sure you spend some time tracking down possible discounts, so you can save as much money as possible on your vacation.

Pack the Right Items

As you get closer to your trip, you will want to make sure you are packing the right items. We are in the parks every single day, so we know exactly what you need to pack for your trip. One of the most important items is comfortable shoes that have been worn in. We definitely don’t recommend buying new shoes and wearing them for the first time at Disney World. Buy the shoes a bit before you leave to save some time to break them in.

Bring comfortable shoes!

We also recommend bringing a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated. Also, don’t forget the portable chargers as you will be utilizing your phone a lot during the trip and you don’t want to be without a charge! There are lots more items that you don’t want to forget including medications, a park bag, autograph book, and more. Make sure you check out our packing list for the full list:

Plan for Breaks

It can be so easy to overwork yourself at Disney World. Even during the winter months when it isn’t quite as hot at Disney World, you still want to make sure you are planning breaks. Grab a bite to eat, take a seat for a bit, and take a break from the crowds. We can guarantee you will have a better time at Disney World if you take some time for yourself.

EPCOT

You can also head back to your hotel for a break and even a quick nap, so you are recharged for the rest of the day. Also, don’t feel like you need to stay at the parks from rope drop to park close. Do what is best for you and your group so you can have the most enjoyable time!

Check for Refurbishments

There is so much to look forward to at Disney World, but sometimes attractions, stores, or dining locations might be closed for maintenance or refurbishment. As you are approaching your trip, make sure you are keeping an eye on the refurbishment schedules.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Walls

Just like discounts, we are always keeping an eye out for planned closures so you can plan ahead. There is nothing quite as disappointing as racing over to your favorite attraction, only to find out it is closed for planned maintenance. Of course, there will likely be unplanned closures during your trip for weather or technical difficulties, too, but we want to make sure you are prepared as possible.

Know Where to Find the Decorations

There is a lot that happens in Disney World for the holiday season. While you can find decorations at the different Disney World parks, you can also find lots of beautiful decorations at Disney World hotels. From gingerbread displays to beautiful Christmas trees, don’t miss out on some amazing decorations!

You can find special decorations in all four parks, plus many of the Disney World hotels also have their own decorations.
