Why July 5th is a HUGE Day For LEGO Fans

There’s a Legoland in Florida, a Legoland in California, but did you know Shanghai has the world’s largest Legoland — well, in a few weeks it will!

Shanghai is about to welcome the world’s largest version of Legoland. So, set your calendars and start saving up, because the scheduled opening date is July 5th. Legoland Shanghai is operated by Merlin Entertainments, which runs Legoland parks worldwide, per The Independent.

The park will feature many LEGO-themed attractions — including a very well-crafted mini replica of the Shanghai waterfront and the tall skyscrapers of the Lujiazui financial district. These are all going to be built out of the iconic bricks we know and love.

The resort is going to be filled with all of your favorite LEGO properties! There will be eight themed sections, including Ninjago, Lego Friends, and Monkie Kid lands, just to name a few. The areas will bring your favorite LEGO stories to life, and the scale will be MASSIVE to immerse visitors in the wonderful world of LEGO! Below is a look at the Preview Center.

“Miniland” will have many wild and cool creations for guests to look at. This will include a replica of downtown Shanghai and the city’s waterfront. In Miniland, you’ll find yourself in awe, as the creations took 168,000 hours to complete, using more than 20 million bricks.

Legoland will find a nice home in Shanghai, as the brick toys have been extremely popular in China, with more than 400 stores. If you’re planning on visiting the new resort, tickets are starting at 319 yuan ($44.46) in low season. They will go up to 599 yuan ($83.57) on peak days.
