SPOTTED! A Marvel Celebrity Just Shocked Moviegoers at Disney Springs

Anthony Mackie, the star of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) latest blockbuster, paid a visit to Disney World during a screening of the film!

Captain America: Brave New World, Mackie’s first cinematic turn as the title character after years of playing a supporting role, premiered on February 13th. During the film’s opening weekend, the star paid a visit to Disney Springs’ AMC theater, much to the excitement of a packed audience.

Mackie’s visit was documented on two clips posted to official social media channels. The first featured Mackie “buying” a ticket to the film, along with a cameo from AMC’s Captain America’s shield-shaped popcorn bucket.

The second shows Mackie exuberantly entering a full screening of the film, and addressing the audience.

Despite some middling reviews from both critics and audiences, Captain America: Brave New World made $88.5 million over the weekend, with domestic ticket sales projected to climb to $100 million through the Presidents Day holiday on Monday, both of which were well above expectations.

As mentioned, the film marks Mackie’s character Sam Wilson’s first cinematic outing as Captain America. He had previously appeared as The Falcon in several previous MCU films, including Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Ant-Man. He took up the mantle of Captain America during the events of the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The film, directed by Julius Onah, stars Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson and Harrison Ford.
