The Los Angeles wildfires have resulted in the loss of lives and damage across a large swath of the area. The wildfires, which are still a threat to people in the area, have also affected a large number of people in the entertainment industry.

As a result, The Walt Disney Company recently vowed to donate $15 million to fire relief efforts, as well as to recovery and rebuilding efforts. The company is also doing what it can to help employees affected by the disaster.
The company wrote: “We will be supporting vital organizations offering essential services on the ground, including the American Red Cross, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, among others.”
Beyond relief, though, the company will also be working with the local business community to support rebuilding efforts. The company is also working to help employees affected by the fires and have provided resources to its Employee Relief Fund to help those who have been affected.

According to The New York Times, more than 60 Disney employees had lost their homes while hundreds more have been evacuated, including Disney CEO Bob Iger. Although he’s currently working from a hotel room, he’s been overseeing the company’s efforts for relief, which included approving the $15 million donation, as well as arranging for affected employees to get two months of free housing. The company is also providing for employees who need clothing from its wardrobe warehouses.
“I want them to know that people at the top of the company are looking after them, that we care,” Iger said. “We’re going to go through some really tough times here, but we’ll get through it together.”

Disney’s production studios have been mostly unaffected by the fires, although the Burbank lot has seen some ashes. Disneyland, in Anaheim, also currently remains unaffected.
