While we love BOTH Candlelight Processional shows — the one in EPCOT and the one in Disneyland — they’re extremely different from one another.

In Disney World, the show happens three times each night and has 14 different celebrity narrators telling the Christmas story throughout the season. Getting a spot for the shows can be difficult, but if you purchase a dining package, you’re guaranteed a seat. Over in Disneyland, however, there are only four shows spanning two days, and invited guests are the only ones to officially attend the event (though regular guests can stand around the area to see the show as well). Last night, we got a spot to see the first show of the year, which revealed who the surprise celebrity narrator is for this year’s event! Now that the secret is out, we’re expecting some BIG crowds for night two of the show.
Unlike Disney World, Disneyland doesn’t announce its celebrity narrator before the event. This is likely because the event already garners massive crowds that hang around the Candlelight Processional stage nearly all day, so announcing the narrator ahead of time would bring even more crowds to the area.

This year, the Candlelight Processional takes place on December 7th and 8th, with shows at 5:30PM and 7:45PM each night. So that means if you missed it last night, you have two more chances tonight! You’ll be battling some pretty heavy crowds, though, because this year’s celebrity narrator is none other than Kathryn Hahn, who you may recognize as Agatha from the 2024 show Agatha All Along or 2021’s WandaVision!

Kathryn was a fantastic narrator, and it was clear to see she was really enjoying being there. The show was beautiful, as it always is, with the massive choir and live orchestra bringing the story to life alongside Hahn’s words.

If you can’t make it to Disneyland for the show, you can enjoy a taste of the performance below! That choir is SO talented.

If you’re heading to Disneyland today hoping to stake out a spot, all we say is good luck! You’ll want to get there a minimum of four to five hours in advance for the first show and as early as possible for the second, and be prepared to just sit and wait.
