CONFIRMED: Construction Has Begun on Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Gingerbread House

Halloween is tomorrow, but Disney World is already getting into the Christmas spirit!

Disney World will often begin setting up its holiday decorations even before Halloween is over. Although we haven’t spotted any Christmas decor in the parks yet, it appears that Disney has begun getting at least one of its hotels prepped for the jolliest season of all!

One of our favorite holiday traditions at Disney World is the gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. This isn’t the only hotel that displays a life-sized gingerbread sculpture, but it is one of the most famous!

It takes a LONG time and a huge team to create this giant gingerbread house. The amount of gingerbread that goes into it is AMAZING. And when it’s all done, it opens up as a little shop where you can purchase your own gingerbread house shingle and other sweet holiday treats.

Now, we have spotted construction on the new 2024 version of the gingerbread house! The frame is up and the culinary team is working hard to bring it to gingerbread life.

If you visit the Grand Floridian any time soon, you’ll likely get to see the team working diligently on getting this large sculpture created! Just remember to pardon their pixie dust.

Siding and shingles are currently being added to the house, but we can’t wait to see what decorations get added this year!

We’ll be keeping an eye on the construction of the house and for any signs of the other displays coming to the other hotels! Last year, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Beach and Yacht Clubs, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort all had a display. Disney has yet to confirm which displays will be returning or if any new ones will be added.
