NEW Character Costumes Revealed for Disney's Latest Private Island Destination

We’ve FINALLY seen every major character’s Lighthouse Point look!

First opening up to guests this June, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is the latest exclusive perk for Disney Cruise Line passengers. This new island, available only to those sailing with Disney, will provide exclusive beaches, exclusive experiences, exclusive merchandise, and exclusive new costumes for Disney’s Fab Five characters, plus Daisy Duck and Chip & Dale.

As we saw months ago when Minnie and Mickey and Minnie’s Lighthouse Cay looks were first revealed, each character’s outfit has been designed by Bahamian fashion designer Theodore Elyett, who took inspiration from the colorful and whimsical design elements associated with the fashions of the Bahamian tradition known as Junkanoo.

Junkanoo culture, which is a centuries-old celebration in West Indian cultures that features elements of “masquerade, drumming, dance, and parading” in colorful costumes, is visible in many of the costume elements of the character’s costumes including Goofy’s vest, Mickey’s conch shell shorts, and Minnie Mouse’s pineapple purse.

The designer told Disney Parks Blog, “I envisioned creating a collection that not only highlighted Bahamian culture, but one that also allowed Mickey and his pals to look and feel as though they were comfortably on vacation, island style… ‘Junkanoo Fun in the Sun’ is an exclusive line-up of all things Bahamian, celebrating the beauty of The Bahamas, all tailored to match the varying personalities of Mickey and his pals.”
