Dancing the night away isn’t something most people associate with Disney World.

But dance venues have been a part of Walt Disney World since the start, as visitors on opening day could celebrate with a live band at the Top of the World lounge atop the Contemporary Resort — where California Grill is now located. Nearly two decades later, Pleasure island introduced a cavalcade of dance clubs that are still well-remembered. However, there’s no dancing at California Grill, and Pleasure Island is long gone (RIP ?), but if you want to shake your groove thing, you still can — just head to the BoardWalk!
Located on the promenade of Disney’s BoardWalk Resort, the Atlantic Dance Hall is one of the hidden gems of Walt Disney World. The Atlantic City-themed 21+ venue, which plays music from the 1980s through the present day, is hailed by Disney as an “Art Deco ballroom” where revelers can watch “the stars twinkle on the ceiling above the expansive dance floor as you strut your stuff.”

Beyond the faux-star covered ceiling, the venue also features balconies that allow for gorgeous views across Crescent Lake.
In addition to being a top-tier dance venue, the Atlantic Dance Hall is also one of Disney World’s best under-the-radar wedding spots. As a venue for between 10 and 150 wedding guests, the hall provides features that include a buffet menu, grand staircase, two large terraces, multilevel balcony seating, and massive windows that serve as wonderful photo backdrops.

Next time you’re looking for an event space at Disney World… or simply looking to cut loose to some loud music, the Atlantic Dance Hall just might be the spot you need.
