Disney+ recently raised its prices and started cracking down on password sharing.

So how is this affecting subscriber numbers? Well, after a year of reporting subscriber losses, we now know how these moves might be affecting Disney+ subscriber numbers now, at least in Disney’s financial fourth quarter of the year.
On November 8th, Disney released its fiscal full year and Q4 2023 earnings report and held its earnings call, where we learned some important details about how The Walt Disney Company is doing financially. We also got some big updates about Disney’s streaming business, including details about how many subscribers Disney+ now has.

Bob Iger has previously stated that streaming is his “number one priority” with his return to the company. Specifically, Iger noted that his priority is to ensure enduring growth and profitability when it comes to streaming.
According to the numbers released, Disney+ now has a total of 112.6 million Disney+ subscribers across the world (excluding HotStar). That is almost 7 million MORE subscribers than the streaming service had in the previous quarter. In the U.S. and Canada alone, Disney+ has 46.5 million subscribers, up from 46 million in the third quarter.
Internationally, Disney+ currently has 112.6 million subscribers — in the previous quarter, that number was just 105.7 million.

Disney has stated that these numbers have actually exceeded the company’s expectations and now believes its streaming business will reach profitability in the fourth quarter of 2024.
CEO Bob Iger credited some of the “great content” available on the service for the increase, including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Elemental, and The Little Mermaid.
We’ll be covering even MORE from Disney’s earnings call, so check back with AllEars again soon for more coverage.
