Genie+ launched at Disney World in 2021, and it has changed a LOT since then.

We’ve seen changes with Genie+ rules, pricing, and just the general appearance of the Genie section of the My Disney Experience app. But recently, something that usually fluctuates with Genie+ has been staying the same…and it’s kind of bizarre!
In 2022, Disney World announced variable pricing for Disney Genie+. This meant that the formerly $15 per person, per day system now had flexible pricing that changed depending on the day — and you wouldn’t find out the price until the day of your visit.

But in June 2023, Disney changed that policy again! Now, pricing is not only flexible by date but by park as well. Each day when you buy Genie+, you have to choose if you want to buy it for a single park or purchase the multi-park option. Typically, Magic Kingdom and the multi-park option are the most expensive, followed by Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and then Animal Kingdom.

Ever since the new version of variable pricing was put in place a few months ago, we’ve seen prices change pretty consistently. But in the past few days, that has NOT been the case. Ever since August 8th, prices for Genie+ have stayed the same at each park, every day.

Here’s what the pricing structure has looked like from August 8th-18th:
- $25 for the multi-park Genie+ per person, per day
- $25 for Genie+ at Magic Kingdom per person, per day
- $18 for Genie+ at EPCOT per person, per day
- $22 for Genie+ at Hollywood Studios per person, per day
- $16 for Genie+ at Animal Kingdom per person, per day

On August 19th, the streak finally broke and the prices changed to this:
- $23 for the multi-park Genie+ per person, per day
- $23 for Genie+ at Magic Kingdom per person, per day
- $17 for Genie+ at EPCOT per person, per day
- $21 for Genie+ at Hollywood Studios per person, per day
- $15 for Genie+ at Animal Kingdom per person, per day

There’s no telling if this trend will happen again or how long it will last, but the pricing typically fluctuates depending on crowd predictions. Some of these prices are on the low end of things, and we’ve been seeing historically lower crowds this summer at Disney World. We’ll be interested to see how pricing changes in the coming weeks as we head into September.
