"It Would Be an Honor to Return" — Celebrity Comments on NEW 'Hocus Pocus' Sequel

We’re sure many of the Hocus Pocus fans out there are VERY excited.

In case you missed the news, a third Hocus Pocus film has officially been confirmed! The director of the film has recently been announced as well, but that’s all the information released on the film right now. However, one star from the original film sat down to share his thoughts on if he would return for the new film.

Omri Katz starred in the original Hocus Pocus film as “Max Dennison, a California teen who relocates to Salem with his younger sister, Dani (Thora Birch), and teams with his local love interest, Allison (Vinessa Shaw), to fight back against the resurrected Sanderson Sisters as the evil witches wreak havoc after a three-century curse banished them to purgatory.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, Omri would be on board to be in the third film if approached, even saying that “it would be an honor to return, hopefully with some of my fellow castmates, and make a fun addition to the franchise!”

Omri wasn’t in the sequel film that came out in 2022, and neither were many other cast members. Why weren’t they? Well, the second film follows a new group of teenagers that accidentally bring the Sanderson Sisters (who did all reprise their roles) back 29 years after the events of the first film.

So could these actors come back for the third film? In a separate interview with Entertainment Weekly, the three iconic Sanderson Sisters actors revealed that “an initial draft of the script included Birch as Dani, albeit as a grown-up schoolteacher who would’ve assisted them in their war against the witches.” We don’t know why the script was changed to write this part out, but it does show that there could be potential for Omri and other original actors to return to the universe.
