NEW Campus Details Revealed for Disney Employee Relocation to Florida

Back in 2021, The Walt Disney Company purchased land in the Lake Nona area of Orlando with plans to move thousands of employees from California to Florida.

Since then, the project has been put on pause, and with Bob Iger’s return as Disney’s CEO, the future of the relocation had been uncertain. A recent update indicates that Disney is still moving forward with the project, and now we’re taking a look at the full details of the plan.

We recently shared that a specific parcel master plan is being sought “for the development of an approximately 1.8 million-square-foot office complex with office and flex space within the Lake Nona PD, Parcel 20A.” Those records indicate that this parcel is the 60 acres that Disney bought for its campus.

And now, we have a better idea of what exactly that office complex might look like. According to GrowthSpotter, plans show the corporate campus will be “designed with all of the buildings facing a central park area with pedestrians walkways linking each of the buildings and providing a quick walk to the Lake Nona Town Center.”

The office space will feature open space elements, with internal walkways connecting buildings that lead to a “centralized open space area that will serve as the heart of the campus.” According to the site plans, there will be entry points at Medical City Drive, Helios Boulevard, and Lake Nona Boulevard.

Construction will happen in phases, but eventually the campus will be home to six office buildings, two “flex” buildings, three parking garages, a central plant, and a visitor parking lot. Right now, the plans call for the buildings to be anywhere from four to seven stories, with the parking garages being six stories.

Disney spokeswoman Jacquee Wahler shared last year that the opening date for the new Lake Nona campus had been pushed to 2026, and we hadn’t heard much after that until recently. Wahler has since confirmed that these new plans were submitted on Disney’s behalf.

Reports show that Disney could spend up to $864 million on the site, but would be able to claim over $570 million in tax breaks over 20 years for the campus.
