NEWS: Disney Announces DATES for Lunar New Year Celebration

If there’s one thing the Disney parks do well (okay, there are a lot of things, but still…) it’s putting on a stellar festival.

Over in Disney World, we’re currently celebrating the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, and Disneyland is pulling out all the stops for the Festival of Holidays, too. And now, we know when the Lunar New Year Celebration will be at Disney California Adventure!

Disney California Adventure will celebrate the Lunar New Year from January 20th to February 15th, 2023!

This tribute to Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures will be back with a multicultural celebration of the Chinese Year of the Rabbit which symbolizes luck in Chinese culture. The Vietnamese zodiac calendar recognizes 2023 as the Year of the Cat, which Disney will also be celebrating!

Mickey and Minnie will don their festive attire, and Mulan and Mushu will be there too. Not only that, but Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession will be returning as well! And this year, the procession will extend from Paradise Gardens all the way through Hollywood Land.

Two new Lunar New Year marketplaces have been announced as well — Bamboo Blessing and Wrapped with Love. They’ll be joining Lucky 8 Lantern, Prosperity Bao & Buns, Red Spice Traders, and Longevity Noodle Co. The Sip and Savor pass will be back too!

And before you catch World of Color, you’ll get to enjoy “Hurry Home — Lunar New Year Celebration”. This nighttime show features a “little lantern’s quest to reunite with family for the annual celebration of good luck and fortune.” Plus, Raya from Raya and the Last Dragon will once again be greeting guests on the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.
