Lunar New Year is just a few days away and Disney is getting ready for their annual celebration at Disney California Adventure! With an awesome parade, meet and greets, cool merch, and delicious food on the way, there are a lot of reasons to head over to the parks from January 21st to February 13th.
Today, we’re taking a look at one of the AMAZING pieces of art Disney has put up for Lunar New Year!
If you’ve been walking around Disneyland Resort lately, you might’ve noticed this beautiful Lunar New Year mural, but did you know there’s a cool backstory behind it?
Well, the artist behind this mural is actually a Disney Cast Member! Elizabeth Lisa Kang, an Associate Art Director at Walt Disney Parks Live Entertainment, created this mural with Minhwa, a form of Korean folk art, as her inspiration! Disney characters like Chip & Dale, Goofy, Mulan, Mushu, and this year’s mascot Tigger all take center stage, but the real star of the show is the East and Southeast Asian cultures and celebrations highlighted by this art.
