Imagine being surrounded and totally engulfed by images of the Casa Madrigal and all of its magic from Encanto. Or picture yourself staring out at larger-than-life depictions of Simba, Sebastian, and other Disney friends. Close your eyes and just imagine yourself dropped INSIDE of the movie.

That’s what one special Disney experience could feel like! We’ve seen Disney offer traveling exhibits, mainly museum displays, in the past but now they’re taking things to a whole other level.
Have you ever seen those immersive art experiences featuring works from Van Gogh and others, with GIANT screens that put you at the center of the action? Well, it looks like Disney’s new experience could be just like that!
Disney Animation: Immersive Experience is a NEW exhibit that’ll take you “inside the greatest films of Walt Disney Animation Studios.” It looks like Disney is working with Lighthouse Immersive on this, which has produced the Immersive Van Gogh experience.

During this experience, it looks like you’ll be surrounded by some GIANT screens that’ll feature images and clips from iconic Disney films. The display video on the Disney Animation: Immersive Experience website shows some clips where families are in front of scenes featuring Nala and Simba, and they share that you might even get the chance to be “at Pride Rock as Rafiki presents Simba.”
It reminds us a bit of the front room in the Animation Academy building Disney’s California Adventure.

They also note that you might get the chance to step into the Casita from Encanto, hop on a train with Judy Hopps from Zootopia, or even ride a magic carpet with Aladdin and Jasmine.
Their video also seems to show potential scenes from Big Hero 6…

…The Little Mermaid…

…and Peter Pan, among others.

But it’s not just images and clips, you’ll also be able to celebrate the music and artistry of the films. Check out the video below to get a glimpse!
For now, the cities below have been announced for the immersive experience. The experience will debut in December in Toronto. It’ll then hit more cities in 2023.

But it looks like more cities could be named in the future. When we went to sign up for information and priority access, it gave us the option to select that we’d be interested in another city. The website noted that they’ll let us know when new cities are announced.

If you want more information, visit the Disney Animation: Immersive Experience website.

There, you can also see more details about what the experience could be like. It looks like there will even be light-up technology included with VIP and premium tickets.

We can’t wait to learn more about this experience, and see what cities are potentially added in the future. Stay tuned for more updates.
This experience could be the perfect way to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Disney Company — which will begin in early 2023.
