UPDATE on the New Toy Story Land Gift Shop in Disney World

There are quite a few major construction projects in progress in Disney World right now!

The middle of EPCOT is getting transformed into new festival areas as well as a new attraction, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is getting a new DVC building, and changes are happening over at the BoardWalk, where we’re getting new dining options. But that’s not all — there are also some major additions coming to Toy Story Land, and we got an update on one of them!

Back in January 2022, Disney announced that a new store called Jessie’s Trading Post would be coming to Toy Story Land. This new store is taking over the old location of the Toy Story Mania gift shop, and we’ve been watching construction progress carefully for a while. Because of this construction, the exit of the ride has been altered for a few months now, and guests are required to leave the attraction through a side door.

But on a recent visit to the ride, we noticed that there’s a NEW mural by the exit! It’s a sign advertising Jessie’s Trading Post, which according to the lore, is a playset that Andy found in the attic and brought downstairs. (It fits with the theme of the ride since the loading area is made to look like Andy’s bedroom.)

It looks like the set of doors to the right will be the entrance to the gift shop, but currently, they’re not open for guests. Right now, riders are still directed out the left set of exit doors to walk around the building. We’re excited about being one step closer to the store’s opening!

The gift shop will probably be through these doors.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on construction over here, as well as construction progress in other spots in Toy Story Land. We’re waiting patiently for the opening of Roundup Rodeo BBQ, which is set to happen sometime this year. The restaurant has been under construction since before the pandemic.
