NEWS: Opening DELAYED for New Restaurant Coming Disney World

Last year, Disney announced some BIG changes coming to the BoardWalk Inn.

The resort is getting major renovations to its lobby, room updates, as well as some new restaurants on the BoardWalk, including a new restaurant and bakery, The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers. Now, we have heard that the opening is being delayed!

At the Cake Bake Shop, guests will be able to enjoy both savory items and delicious desserts, as well as an afternoon tea service in “a whimsical atmosphere that complements the magic of the idyllic charm of Disney’s BoardWalk.”

So when will guests get to enjoy that whimsical atmosphere and delicious food? The Cake Bake Shop has just announced that they will now open in early 2024

The Cake Bake Shop said on Instagram that while they’re eager to open the doors to guests, the shop will not be opening this year as expected, but rather in early 2024.

The original Cake Bake Shop is located in Indiana and is known not just for its famous baked goods and pastries, but also for its interesting seasonal window displays and theming. The original has also been featured on The Rachel Ray Show and Oprah’s Favorite Things in 2019. We’re so excited!

In the meantime, if you’re looking for some delicious baked goods in Disney World, you can always head on over to Gideon’s Bakehouse for cookies and cake slices or Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew for over-the-top donuts.

If you’re craving chocolate, you can get all sorts of chocolate delights, along with ice cream, shakes, and sundaes at Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop.
