While it’s usually unlikely that you’ll fall ill during your vacation, Disney World has multiple first aid locations set up throughout the parks and resorts.

These locations can be helpful to know about if you find yourself needing some basic medicine like Tylenol or even a bandaid, but they’re also there to assist guests in emergency medical situations. But, just how common is this? A new injury report has revealed data on the recent medical emergencies reported in the parks.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, the state of Florida has released a new report indicating that nine injuries have been reported in Disney World between October and December 2021. These injuries include cardiac issues, seizures, and other conditions.

The majority of the medical emergencies reported by Disney World took place in the month of October and involved injuries like “stroke-like symptoms,” “cardiac symptoms,” seizures, and feeling unwell after riding various attractions.

The report also included other Florida theme parks, though Universal Orlando is the only other park that reported injuries in this time period (of which there was one).

In order to qualify for the report, the medical emergency must have resulted in a hospital stay of at least 24 hours for the guest.
Additionally, it is important to note that these are self-reported numbers from Disney World and Universal Orlando, as theme parks in the state of Florida file their own injury reports through the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Injury reports like this one are released throughout the year and can be found by visiting the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services website. And, we’ll continue to keep an eye out for more of the latest Disney news, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars!
