Last month, Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside Resort reopened to guests after being closed for almost a year and a half.

And, while the hotel has been hosting guests, Boatwright’s Dining Hall has remained closed. But, that is set to change soon! Disney has announced that the restaurant will reopen on December 14th, 2021 and we’ve got a look at all the menu changes that you can expect!
Boatwright’s Dining Hall will open for dinner and will feature a whole host of “Southern specialty” dishes for guests to enjoy. But, the menu will look a little different than you might remember.

On the appetizer menu, Disney has removed three dishes including the Crawfish Bisque, Andouille Sausage-Cheese Dip, and Fried Green Tomatoes. Instead, you can now find Boudin Balls, which is a mix of andouille sausage, smoked sausage, and dirty rice breaded and fried served with remoulade, creole mustard, and pickled vegetables, and Amelia’s Salad, which is a plant-based option that is similar to the salad that used to be on the entree menu).
There are also a few price increases including:
- French Onion Soup Au Gratin — increased from $9 to $10
- Mardi Gras Fritters — increased from $10 to $12
- Amelia’s Salad — increased from $9 to $10

On the entree menu, the Turbodog Barbecued Ribs have been removed and a few other dishes received some tweaks. For example, the Nashville Hot Chicken is no longer listed as being served on a Southern honey biscuit. And, The Big Easy is now served with dirty rice, seasonal vegetables, pickled onions, and brown butter beurre blanc rather than crawfish mac & cheese, and blackberry port demi. It also decreased in price from $36 to $26.
And, while one dish decreased in price, others will now cost more including:
- All-You-Can-Eat Chef’s Platter — increased from $33 to $35
- Boatwright’s Jambalaya — increased from $19 to $21
- Boatwright’s Harvest Jambalaya — increased from $19 to $21
- General Fulton’s Prime Rib — increased from $35 to $36
- Deep South Shrimp & Grits — increased from $23 to $24

For sides, the menu now includes only three options, with Red Beans and Rice, Crawfish Macaroni & Cheese, and Lump Crab Cakes all removed.

And, for dessert, Disney has removed the Traditional Bread Pudding and Lemon Chess Bar dishes and replaced them with a Banana Cream Pie Bread Pudding and Sorbet.
Additionally, the Pecan Pie Cheesecake seems to have changed a little bit, as it was previously topped with Vanilla Chantilly Cream and spiced candied pecans but is now described as having a Bourbon-Caramel sauce and spicy candied pecans.

The kids’ menu has also received a bit of an overhaul with several appetizers and entree options removed and the addition of dishes like Grilled Fish, Pasta With Marinara, a Mixed Fruit Cup as a side choice, and Zero Sugar Lemonade with Flavors of Cotton Candy served in a souvenir character cup to drink.

The food isn’t the only portion of the menu to receive an update! The 50th-anniversary specialty drink known as the EARidescent Sip-a-bration can now be found on the menu. Though, the Mega-Berry Smoothie has been removed.

And, the specialty and dessert cocktail menu is much more limited with drinks like the Fireball Cocktail, Magical Star Cocktail, Cold Brew XO, and beers removed. Though, you’ll still find many returning favorites.

And, that’s it for all of the menu updates at Boatwright’s Dining Hall! Keep in mind that reservations open on December 2nd, 2021, and will then be available to be made 60 days in advance, so be sure to secure your reservations early.
