Disney’s Merlin has found a new director!
Disney’s Merlin, an adaptation of T.A. Barron’s novel series, is currently in the works. Previously, Ridley Scott was signed on to direct the project, but he has since stepped down due to scheduling conflicts.
But if you’re anxiously awaiting the premiere of Merlin, don’t worry — a new director has now signed on for the project! Michael Matthews, director of the 2020 film Love and Monsters, is now set to head the project.
The novel series on which the movie is based follows the origin story of a young Merlin, who goes on to become the mentor of King Arthur. According to Deadline, the film is still in early development with Disney’s live-action team.
