While many people have been able to return to travel in the U.S., many travel warnings are still in place for international travel.

These have had impacts on the Disney Cruise Line and other international Disney travel, such as Adventures By Disney. And, it seems that the return to travel abroad may be delayed after a recent announcement from the State Department.
According to Axios, the State Department is preparing to increase travel advisories to “do not travel” for about 80% of countries around the world and is recommending that Americans “reconsider all travel abroad.”

The State Department has been using a four-tiered system when it comes to travel recommendations with 1 being “exercise normal precautions” and 4 being “do not travel.” They have been updating recommendations throughout the past year, as conditions change for each country, but their recent announcement will result in a significant update to the list of countries considered a level 4 risk.

This comes as the CDC upgraded their travel recommendations just yesterday for the Bahamas from a level 3 to a level 4, meaning that the risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19 is very high when traveling to the area. The State Department’s updates to the guidelines are meant to be more closely aligned with the CDC assessments.

The State Department has also shared that there will be more updates as “conditions evolve” but for now we can expect many countries to be upgraded in risk level soon. We’ll continue to keep you posted as recommendations and policies continue to change. Stay tuned to AllEars for more news!
