It’s March 1st which means it’s Women’s History Month!

To celebrate, Disney Springs has created the “Celebrate HER Story” event, which puts a spotlight on talented women who have made an impact at Disney. Now, Disney has released even more details about this event!
The event will feature new treats, entertainment, and other unique offerings. There will be a spotlight series at The Art of Disney and WonderGround Gallery with a focus on female filmmakers, artists, and directors who do or have worked for The Walt Disney Animation Studios!

Several visiting artists will showcase their work including Julia Gabrielov on March 13th-14th, 20th-21st at The Art of Disney, Meredith Young on March 26th-28th at Marketplace Co-Op, Paola Gracey on March 26th-28th at The Art of Disney, plus surprise appearances by Jasmine Beckett Griffith on certain dates from March 11th-31st at Marketplace Co-Op.

You can meet character artist Fabiola Garza Villalobos at Ever After Jewelry on March 8th from 10AM-12PM. Also, strong female vocalists and acts will be performing every Wednesday night from 5PM-9PM! Some of these artists include Just Imagin3 and Skillzmatic Band.

There are also some special treats in Disney Springs! At Amorette’s Patisserie, powerful female Chef Yoly created a Flancocho which combines chocolate cake and flan. Chef Amanda from The Ganachery created a Bonbon with dark chocolate, Morello cherry gel, and pistachio ganache. The Ganachery is also bringing back the Captain Marvel Chocolate Piñata!

There is a Mrs. Incredible Dole Whip at Marketplace Snacks (which we tried and LOVED today), and City Works Eatery & Pour House is offering the “Her Hops Flight” featuring four female owned or led breweries.

Other shops that will include women empowerment products include Alex and Ani, House of Blues Gear Shop, L’Occitane en Provence, Lovepop, Pele Soccer, Ron Jon Surf Shop, and Vera Bradley.

We’ve seen some of the women’s history month happenings already, and we’ll continue to update you on them as the month goes on!
