Give Kids the World Village Will Be Reopening to Families Soon!

The global pandemic caused a lot of places to make the difficult decision to close temporarily, including Give Kids the World Village, which is a nonprofit resort in Florida that provides week-long, free vacations to critically ill kids and their families.

Not too long ago, however, we got to visit the Village for their special Night of a Million Lights event (which you still have time to visit) to celebrate the holiday season and help support this amazing organization. Well, good news is now incoming! Give Kids the World had previously said that they would remain closed for an “undetermined amount of time,” but that undetermined time is now coming to a close. Give Kids the World has announced a reopening date for the Village!

Give Kids the World Village recently shared via their website that magic will be returning soon to the Village as they will be reopening beginning January 17th, 2021!

In consideration for the safety of their guests, however, the Village will be taking a phased approach to their reopening — only beginning with a limited number of families, and gradually increasing their numbers over time.

Give Kids the World notes that the decision to reopen has been made with the full support of its Board and theme park partners, including Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld, and “after careful consultation with the infectious disease experts at Nemours Children’s Hospital.”

The Village shared that they are incredibly excited to welcome families back, including more than 6,000 children whose wishes were postponed during the closure. The Village notes that funds are needed now more than ever to ensure that they can fulfill these wish vacations.
