The Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom is arguably one of the most breathtaking Disney Parks icons!

If you love the Tree of Life, you’ll definitely want to try the recipe Disney just released for a pie inspired by Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Disney+.
This Tree of Life Pie might look complicated, but you can actually make it at home with some pretty simple ingredients and instructions.

We think this pie will be a great addition to our Thanksgiving table this fall!
The ingredients for the Tree of Life pie are pretty simple. You might even have a few of them lying around already!

Gather your ingredients and follow the instructions below to make this truly unique pie!
Directions
- Lightly flour your workspace. Roll the top and bottom halves of pie dough until they’re about 1/8 of an inch thick.
- Fit the bottom crust into a pie plate, leaving about 1/2 an inch of overhang . Cut off any extra with kitchen scissors. Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork to keep it from puffing up while baking. Fill the bottom crust with the pie filling.
- Place the rolled top crust over the filling. Trim the edges of the top crust, again leaving half an inch of overhang. Tuck the edges under and flute them, then use the tips of a small fork to create decorative lines on the inner side of the fluted edge.
Tuck, Flute, and Decorate the Edges of the Pie Crust ©DisneyFamily - Roll out the dough for a single crust to a thickness of 1/8 of an inch. Use a precision knife to cut out the silhouette of the Tree of Life. Draw it freehand, or print an image to use as a template. The tree should measure about 6 to 7 inches to fit in the middle of the pie.
- Collect the scraps and save them for step 8. Use a precision knife and a sharp knife to impress lines on the trunk of the tree.
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Place the tree cutout on top of the pie and bake for 20 minutes. Reduce heat to 400°F and bake an additional 30 minutes, until the pie is golden brown. If the edges start to get too brown, cover them with a strip of foil.
Place the Tree on Top of the Crust and Bake ©DisneyFamily - Re-roll the reserved dough scraps from the single crust to create leaves. Create leaves using a mini round cutter, then use a precision knife to impress veins in the leaves. If you have some extra dough, you might want to create a couple of little animals too! Use a toothpick to impress the animal’s eyes and features.
Cut Out and Paint the Leaves ©DisneyFamily - Bake at 375°F for 5 to 8 minutes until the leaves are just baked.
- Dilute the green and brown food colorings in two small bowls to thin them out. Use small food brushes to paint the baked leaves green. Once the pie has cooled completely, paint the canopy green and the trunk brown.
- Attach the pie crust leaves to the canopy and animals to the trunk using small dabs of honey on the tip of a toothpick.
