While France has continued to make changes to operations in the country, Disneyland Paris has shifted the way the parks move forward with re-opening.

After the parks originally opened back in July, they have since been affected by quarantine requirements and curfews in the country. However, the latest update to France’s health policies could mean that Disneyland Paris will be closing for a second time this year soon.
Bloomberg has provided details on the French President Emmanuel Macron‘s decision to impose a nationwide lockdown moving forward. As cases in the country have begun to rise and overwhelm healthcare institutions, the lockdown will begin this upcoming Friday, October 30th.

Last week, France expanded its curfew to around two thirds of its population. However, Macron discussed the situation, stating on national television that the “Virus is circulating in France at a speed that even the most pessimistic forecast didn’t foresee. The measures we’ve taken have turned out to be insufficient to counter a wave that’s affecting all Europe.”

The rest of Europe have also put tighter restrictions in place as Ireland has moved to shut down the economy for six weeks and German Chancellor Angela Merkel put a one-month partial shutdown in place for the country.

The biggest concern the country has is for the medical industry as hospitals are overwhelmed at this time. Frederic Valletoux, head of the federation of French hospitals, noted on France Inter radio that “We’re already in the center of the storm, in the crisis, and now we need radical measures. Hospitals won’t hold up unless we take drastic measures.”

The lockdown will likely affect multiple businesses moving forward, including Disneyland Paris. Although the theme park hasn’t released an announcement about another closure, we’ll be sure to keep you updated!
