The third installment of the Spider-Man: Homecoming series is getting a familiar face added to the cast!
Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role as Doctor Strange in the third movie! In the previous films, Iron Man/Tony Stark fit the role of Spider-Man/Peter Parker’s mentor. According to Hollywood Reporter, Strange will arrive to take on the role and guide young Spider-Man on his next journey.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand with characters from various Marvel films popping in and out of storylines. Not only will Cumberbatch be featured in Spider-Man 3, but Jamie Foxx will also make an appearance as Electro. Foxx first played the role in the Spider-Man 2 remake, which starred Andrew Garfield.
Benedict Cumberbatch is keeping busy as he will also star in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel. As for Spider-Man 3, leading actors Tom Holland and Zendaya will return to their original roles. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on December 17th, 2021.
