As the end of 2020 nears, we have been reflecting on many of the difficult events that have happened so far this year.

Chadwick Boseman’s passing has caused many fans, friends, and family members to mourn the loss of his kind spirit. While Disney has commemorated the Black Panther himself with the Chadwick Boseman: A Tribute for a King special and a beautiful mural in Downtown Disney, a former co-star has stepped forward to detail just how considerate Boseman was during his life.

Actress Sienna Miller has reported to Empire Magazine that Chadwick Boseman donated part of his salary in order for her to receive a higher pay packet on their film 21 Bridges last year.

According to Miller, “Everybody understands about the pay disparity in Hollywood, but I asked for a number that the studio wouldn’t get to.” When Boseman learned of this, Sienna said that Chadwick ended up donating some of his salary to get me to the number I had asked for. He said that that was what I deserved to be paid.”

Chadwick Boseman also worked as one of the producers on 21 Bridges and helped cast Miller in the role of Detective Frankie Burns. Miller also felt grateful that her co-star pursued her for the role as it was unlike anything she had experienced before. She stated, “He was a fan of my work, which was thrilling, because it was reciprocated from me to him, tenfold. So he approached me to do it, he offered me this film, and it was at a time when I really didn’t want to work anymore. I’d been working non-stop and I was exhausted, but then I wanted to work with him.”

However, Boseman’s generous actions made her realize what a light he was in the film industry. Miller remarked that “It was about the most astounding thing that I’ve experienced. That kind of thing just doesn’t happen. He said, ‘You’re getting paid what you deserve, and what you’re worth.’ It’s just unfathomable to imagine another man in that town behaving that graciously or respectfully.”

While Boseman helped contribute his own pay to Miller quietly with “no showiness,” the actress has been telling her male actors friends about the late actor’s actions. While she wasn’t sure whether she should open up about the situation, Miller decided to tell the story since “it’s a testament to who [Chadwick Boseman] was.”

As many other fans and friends open up about Chadwick Boseman’s kindness, it’s clear that the actor will be missed dearly by the people whose lives he touched.
