Recently, we shared with you that Disney had removed sailings through early December from its website.Â
Today, we spotted a new notice on the Disney Cruise Line website discussing the extended suspension of new sailings.
Recently, Disney participated in the Bank of America 2020 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference and indicated that Disney’s cruising business will probably be the last to resume. Disney has also confirmed that the Disney Wish — a new ship that was being built to join the Disney Cruise Line fleet — has been delayed.

At the beginning of August, Disney extended its suspension all cruises through the end of October. That suspension was extended again through some of December. The Disney Cruise Line website has now been updated to show that all sailings through at least December 6th have been canceled.

Specifically, sailings are canceled on the following ships through the following dates:
- Disney Fantasy — sailings are canceled through December 6
- Disney Dream and Disney Wonder — sailings are canceled through December 11
- Disney Magic — sailings are canceled through December 12

The Disney Cruise Line website also has a full list of all the sailings that have been impacted by the extended suspension of all departures.

In its statement, Disney notes that, as they “continue to refine health and safety protocols for [their] future return to service and await direction from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,” they have decided to extend the suspension of new sailings.

Guests whose sailings have been affected by this extended suspension ad who have paid for their reservation in full will be offered either a 125% cruise credit, which they can use on a future sailing, or a full refund. The cruise credit must be used on a future sailing prior to May 31, 2022. It appears the credit will  automatically be added to guests’ accounts.

Guests affected by these suspensions who have not paid their reservations in full will automatically receive a refund of whatever amounts they have paid so far.

If you were scheduled to go on a cruise that has been affected by this extended suspension of departures, be on the lookout for an email fromDisney Cruise Line with more details and next steps.
The Disney Cruise Line website also notes their flexibility policy. Guests who book a cruise by October 31, 2020 for sailings through May 2021 now have the flexibility to change their sail date up to 15 days prior to their departure.

This is a situation that is constantly changing, so be sure to check back with us for more updates. We’ll be on the lookout for more news about Disney Cruise Line and we’ll definitely let you know what we find.
