Chris Hemsworth’s portrayal of Thor is arguably one of the most recognizable characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

And if you’re a fan of Hemsworth’s portrayal of the God of Thunder, we have some good news — according to a recent interview, he isn’t looking to hang up his hammer anytime soon.
Chris Hemsworth recently sat down for an interview with the Polish magazine Elle Man, and the discussion turned to his plans following the upcoming film Thor: Love and Thunder.

This will be the fourth film in the Thor series, and Hemsworth was asked if Thor will retire after the upcoming movie. And his response indicates that he’s not ready to say goodbye to the character anytime soon. “Are you crazy?! I’m not going into any retirement period. Thor is far too young for that. He’s only 1,500 years old. It’s definitely not a film that I say goodbye to this brand. At least I hope so.”

Hemsworth called the script for the upcoming film even more fun than Thor: Ragnarok, and said he’s grateful to be continuing his work in the MCU following Avengers: Endgame. “After reading the script, I can say that I am very excited. In this production, there will for sure be a lot of love and a lot of lightning.”

In a previous interview with Variety, Hemsworth said he wasn’t sure when he would exit the MCU. “There will come a day. Whether it’s now or in the future, I don’t know…Who knows what the sort of future holds. I don’t know, there could be remakes, sequels, prequel — who knows?”
The premiere of Thor: Love and Thunder is currently set for February 11th, 2022.
