This week, we got news that Major League Soccer would be playing a tournament hosted at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Disney World.

They’ll be joining another sports league, the NBA, who will be finishing out their season this summer at Disney World as well. In a press conference today, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings spoke to both leagues coming to the area.
In his press conference, Demings was asked about the NBA coming to Disney World, to which he emphasized Disney’s readiness to host the organization.

“Disney has gone through great lengths to ensure the safety of those players, and the sanitation associated with the facilities that they will be living in and playing in so that those games will be broadcast for our pleasure,” Demings said.
Earlier this week, it was reported that MLS players will be staying at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resort during their tournament. While the NBA has not yet revealed which hotels they will be staying at, it has been reported that any reporters covering NBA games will likely be required to stay in the “Disney bubble” during the remainder of the season.
We will continue to bring updates on the latest news about the NBA and MLS coming to Disney World!
