While most of the world is shut down, including the Disney Parks, a task force in California led by Governor Gavin Newsom that includes members such as Walt Disney Company’s Bob Iger is preparing a recovery plan for the state to eventually begin to reopen.

However, a new memo has reportedly been sent out to the California police that seems to indicate the governor plans to close all state beaches starting tomorrow.
According to the Orange County Register, Eric Nuñez, president of the California Police Chiefs Association, says the memo was sent out to give police chiefs time to plan for the official announcement. The closure of California’s beaches would come in stark contrast to the phased reopening of Florida’s waterfronts.

The closure would come after approximately 80,000 visitors visited Newport Beach over this past weekend. Newsom reportedly has said that beachgoers in Orange and Ventura counties are an example of “what not to do” with regards to safety.

We will continue to update as this story develops.
